What makes this year frustrating is that there have been so many seemingly winnable games where we just aren't getting it done. In addition to that, we lose the games in the same way and aren't correcting the mistakes.

Dekkers has the tools and talent imo to become one of our better quarterbacks but is lacking the experience, confidence, and decision-making that we need to excel.

The OL and TE needs to be a strong position group in our program but don't seem to be this year.

The running game is non-existent, and the WR room minus X need to step up.

Special teams room needs consistency and to stop making critical mistakes.

Some of these problems you think would be able to be addressed this year by the coaches as they are mental/focus mistakes (or they could put the players in a better position to succeed), but maybe will require some offseason changes.

Also Campbell needs to actually use the coaches challenge sometimes and have some better gameday management.

I don’t like all the things Campbell says as they seem coach talk/fakey, but the players seem to love him and he recruits pretty solid… so he’s going to have a pretty long leash with me.

Campbell does and should have a LONG leash here. No rational fan is calling for him to be fired. If you are, your memory is WAY too short about ISU football. But it’s perfectly okay to call him out for offensive and special teams ineptness and what is seemingly an unwillingness to change.

If you aren’t concerned about us getting outcoached by almost every other P5 staff over the last two years, you are a blatant homer.

Feels like Blum isn’t doing near enough with the collective. How often do you see updates on this site about it? We need to know what they’re doing with the money. Is he targeting any MAC or FCS guys with NIL offers who can be difference makers?
The collective does not do recruiting cash bags. The collective is for retaining the current athletes via payment for service.

Heacock for head coach? Campbell as HC is in year 7, I'm finished with it. We will always support our kids in the program regardless of results, but the Campbell crew, we're out. We're serious donors, but c'mon, this isn't moving the ball forward, no matter how much coach-speak Campbell wants to offer. We won't attend any more FB games this year, waiting for some basketball (boys and girls) and wrestling!
Thought you supported the kids regardless of results? Oh - I guess not going to games shows support. My bad.

Blum was a solid choice.

Since you think this is important - you must have joined. Thank you! We get emails, and on Twitter they show our athletes at events - I assume you follow WEWILL. All us members need to recruit our friends - it takes a team effort. I believe there are currently about 850 members.

Numerous people on this board mentioned that if everybody at the Jack gave something, however small, we might have a marginally competitive program. Well - 850 is way less than 62,000.

My take, from our last email update, is that progress is being made - but it does seem slow. Anybody who reads this board knew it would be a tough sell.

Opinion - we always knew we would really struggle to compete in this environment. Some schools are paying individual athletes more than 10x what we will raise in total for all athletes in all sports.

Got to keep trying! Thanks for your support.

Edit - it would be illegal for Blum to target players for NIL deals - as far as I know. Not saying shady things do not occur.

I’m glad to see Blum engage with the other message boards as well.

Some sort of glass ceiling for Iowa State football success? I've always objected to that, but after seeing the 3rd coach in my lifetime start to fade after burning bright, I am really starting to question it.
My opinion - as fans, I think our expectation should be:

1) consistent middle of the pack team
2) occasional good years where we contend
3) occasional down rebuilding years.

I know that may sound defeatist - but I think we have several “disadvantages “ that are well understood. They can be overcome, but not easily:

1) tradition
2) recruiting base
3) $
4) national appeal
5) population

Facilities are no longer an issue - imho
Whether we can maintain remains to be seen.

If you're not seeing updates, it's because you've not donated.

I’ve smartly stayed away from this **** show since yesterday. I guess an old dog can learn a new trick.

I was as disengaged as I have been for football in over 5 years yesterday. That sucks. But the fact that it’s been 5 years is amazing.

My thoughts:

1. The only thing that will make this season worse is losing Campbell at the end of it.

2. I think a change with the offense has to be made at the end of the season.

3. One bad season out of 5 is pretty good. Let’s not lose the forest through the trees.

4. Despite the absolute **** show that has been the last 5 weeks, we aren’t that far away. That doesn’t mean that changes need to be made though.

My question for a lot of fans is what team doesn’t have a bad year? Almost all do. Gundy does. We were due a bad one and it’s been awful for 5 weeks.

I feel like you are missing the point of our collective.

Brent isn't out there targeting guys for us to get.. he is trying to raise money to keep the guys we already have on the roster as well as new recruits committed.

Whether you like it or not, Iowa State is in a position to be picked over by schools with more money for our already proven players. How will you feel when we lose half of our defensive starting backfield this off season? Brace yourself.

In my mind the point of the collective isn't "targeting" lower level players to come here and play. It should be to KEEP the players we already have here that are really good.
