NBA needs to stop having damn 7 game series. That's one of the more annoying things about the NBA (along with the hour lineup introduction during the NBA All Star game.)

Personally it should be whoever wins the first game moves on outside of the finals where it's a 3 game series.

Anyway, getting back on topic.

I wonder if we'll get our own ad for Gameday after they visit, if they do decide to visit of course.

Nope, that actually may be the best thing about the NBA. You can't fluke your way to an NBA title, the best team almost always wins the championship. Teams get picked apart in the playoffs, those little cracks in your rotation become major issues after three or four rounds of teams focusing all their coaching and scouting on one team. Teams have to be able to adjust throughout a series, the rotations shrink, it's a grind. And it's a great way to crown a champion.

First thing the NBA needs to do (though it will never happen) is halve the number of teams making the playoffs. 16 out of 30 teams made the playoffs. MLB is, what, 8 out of 30? So many teams making the postseason is what makes the regular season so pointless.

I don't have a problem with the number of teams that make the playoffs, that's where the level of play is the highest, no need to get rid of that. If anything, they need to reduce the number of regular season games, cut that to 70 or so.

I think series are the better way to determine a champion. Part of me thinks it would be interesting to have a three-game series for the NFL's "Super Bowl." First game at one home stadium, second at the other. If either team won both games, they're the champs. If the records are 1-1, then they play a neutral-site rubber match (like the current Super Bowl).

That set up would be particularly interesting if the Jets and Giants made the Super Bowl last year at MetLife Stadium

And the "product (i.e., talent) on the court" is only one of dozens of factors that make something interesting to watch or follow.

But yet that's what the argument is and you choose to ignore it/change the subject because it doesn't fit your agenda.

Bilas(?) said that the NBA has the best product on the floor. Yet you call him a DB not by discounting his argument, but by calling the NBA an inferior product because of every single reason EXCEPT his argument. In other words, your argument fails because the argument is better product ON THE FLOOR, the one argument that not only you choose not to refute, but cannot refute - which is why you choose to argue every side except the argument at hand.

The NBA used to have 5-game series. The first round a lot of the time was terrible compared to the rest of the playoffs.

Just because one and done works in college does not mean it would work in the NBA. In fact, it would be a dumpster fire in the NBA.

It's fine if you like those kind of things but it almost always doesn't provide who was the best team all year.

The NCAA tournament is great for excitement but the NBA is much better if you want the best teams playing at the end.

While there are some flukes, I don't just throw out the possibility of higher seeded champs being the "best" team. Sometimes it takes higher intensity and competition to bring out the best in some teams. Also, if you're playing your best ball at the end of the season then all you've done is accomplish what everyone else is trying to do.

I'm in the CBB fan zone. Hate the NBA. It's so fixed via the refs I am shocked no one has been hit over the back with a folding chair during a game. And the players are mailing it in (and/or high) half the time. Just unwatchable for me.

CBB is not as skilled, I won't argue that. But it's played with a lot more passion, and the emotional ups and downs that make upsets happen are terrific.

Someone should do a poll.

Isn't a bum off the street better than corso?

Corso had a stroke in 2009, and probably shouldn't be on TV anymore. I wish they'd limit him to a few minutes each day and then have him put on the mascot head, but apparently espn thinks watching him have trouble forming sentences is something that should be on tv. Sad in my opinion.

As far as GameDay goes... Its time, Hilton Magic is one of the best atmospheres in college hoops.
