Then I get reimbursed. Which has never happened. I don't think people will get turned away.

I am 100% sure people will get turned away (get reimbursed). I just drove by Hilton and there are tents already all the way from the north entrance to the SW corner. I am joining the line in the morning as I couldn't convince any of my friends to camp out.

That has been said every year for the ACTUAL Kansas game. This is not even going to the game, just picking up a ticket.

Ticket that guarantees your assigned seat for the game, so that you can go to game day (if it comes here) instead of waiting in line... I guess we will see tomorrow what happens.

This ticket thing is a good idea. I wish they would do something where for these big games students who go to every game get rewarded. Maybe even have "points" awarded for going to all of the non-MBB games (WBB, wrestling, football, volleyball) and then give out tickets based on those points. I feel like this has been said before and obviously nothing has happened. However, rewarding the kids without making them sit outside in freezing temps and potentially missing class would be nice for everyone I assume. Maybe not, maybe college kids want to sleep on the concrete and freeze.

They probably sent the same request to every location being considered. You can't literally just roll a national broadcast into town with no prep work done.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Makes picking the location a week prior seem kind of silly, but it makes for better games. The increased rating must make up for planning marketing for locations they don't visit.

I hope they tweet this stuff to ESPN to sway the Game Day decision.

I partly agree with you... I just don't think the point system should be done as you described. People might not believe this, but some college kids are really busy. I got 2 jobs, leadership position in a club, and a full time class schedule. I barely even have time to go to the MBB games, let alone all the other sports. Yesterday I went to the game, instead of studying for a big test that I had today. Thankfully the test went well, but I don't think many "serious" students would risk their test grade to go to the game.

I'm sorry but this is not a good argument. Yeah you may be busy and stuff but I see nothing for getting off my butt and going to all of the other sports. It is irritating to see volleyball, wrestling, and women's basketball empty.

I understand we are in school to learn but there is still plenty of free time.

I also just got an email back from the athletic department and the way they were talking it sounds like they aren't opening the doors before noon.

You got be kidding me right? You might have free time, but I don't have enough of it to go to all the sports. Believe it or not my free time is very limited... Every week I have at least 4-5 hrs worth of meetings, 3 group homework assignments that each usually take 3-5 hrs/week, plus 15 hrs of class/week, plus work... oh yea add on top of it time that I need to get my individual homework done and study to keep with material being taught. I go to some volleyball games or women's basketball games when I can, but unfortunately I can't go very often. Anyway, I am happy you are able to go to multiple sports and support the clones, but not everyone is able to do the same.

Yeah but that is the choice you made to be involved in those groups. I am not trying to be a **** or anything, but I have a hard time when people say they don't have enough time. Obviously if your major requires you to take these classes that give a bunch of homework that sucks, but that again is because of your choice of that major. I'm not saying you should change your decisions, but you made the choice and maybe missing out on getting good seats for basketball is one of the consequences.

One of the consequences of me not working during school will be that I will have debt, but I'm not complaining about that.

Don't know whether or not I miss the good old days of Fred's first year when I could show up on game time and get a seat in the bottom deck. We did suckk though. Agreed with the post about time. We can't all wait in line for 36 hours even though we would like to. Just the name of the game.

They just said on espn that if duke stays unbeaten his 1000th win would be this Saturday, I know it's a noon game, but would they do game day for that one?

I only have this secondhand, but I heard from someone who spoke with Pollard who said that, per ESPN, the choice would be either KU-ISU or WVU-UT.
