You should be spending a lot of time sitting on the toiletThe drinking a gallon of gunk routine has ended. I have two 6oz bottles that I have to drink 4 hours apart and that's it.

Wow, that is a lot of scopes. Are the recommending every 6 months? Asking because that is extremely odd, 3 months is unheard of to the best of my knowledge. This was 10 years ago.
I’ve done about 14 colonoscopies since and they find stuff every time. All benign so far but I’ll eventually go the every 6 month track and then probably every 3 months eventually.
I’ve gotten used to the prep and load up a TV in the bathroom whenever I need to do it lol
I'm not someone who follows medical procedures but that does not sound like a pleasant experience. Best wishes for your recovery.Cancer of the tongue. Had about half my tongue removed and rebuilt using the flesh from my wrist. Been out of the hospital for a week. Drinking lots of boost.
They keep finding polyps and the number increases basically every time. I refuse to remove my colon (or most of it) at this time because I’d rather just keep getting scoped than deal with all that.Wow, that is a lot of scopes. Are the recommending every 6 months? That’s fair, I just assumed they would have recommended surgery at that point if they couldn’t remove them all during the procedure but I get wanting to avoid that. Good on you for staying in top of it, so many don’t.They keep finding polyps and the number increases basically every time. Still doing yearly for now but they said it will probably be beneficial to do 6 months soon. My insurance is covering it all and I’m used to it so I don’t really care.
Would rather not end up with a grapefruit sized cancerous tumor like my dad found and died ~10 years later after chemo.
What? They were just pulling your leg. This is just silly. They make you fart before you leave.
Shouldn't this be in the Friday confessions thread?
Nope they inflate your colon with air to get a better look around. It’s a fairly common practice when CO2 isn’t used. What? They were just pulling your leg. This is just silly.
There’s been many discussions on surgery including removing the colon completely, a bag outside the body, an experimental one like using an animal or donated colon, and probably a few others I am forgetting. That’s fair, I just assumed they would have recommended surgery at that point if they couldn’t remove them all during the procedure but I get wanting to avoid that. ***edit: also very sorry you have to go through all of that.
Honestly I would probably go the same route you are with how you’re describing it.There’s been many discussions on surgery including removing the colon completely, a bag outside the body, an experimental one like using an animal or donated colon, and probably a few others I am forgetting.
But they haven’t had any issues removing the polyps yet so I haven’t really entertained the surgery option so far.

The marketing person that named one of the preps "Go Lightly" had a sick sense of humor.Prepping for another one and thought this thread could use another resurrection.
Using a new prep this time called Prepopik. We'll see how this one goes.
I’m 44 and have had two due to some recurring issues and family history. They are no big deal. Actually more enjoyable than certain days at JTSI'm 44 so my time is coming soon. I've had season tickets to ISU football for over 20 years so my anus is prepped.
I am 34, had my first colonoscopy earlier this year due to some symptoms. I also was just diagnosed with UC. Was interesting to read another cf person with this stupid disease!I've had 8 and get one every 2 years due to having UC. Prep sucks, procedure is nothing, and if it catches cancer early in the long run then I have no issues with what I've been doing.
