Yeah for Tyrese sure. But for a kid like this you have no idea if that’s the issue. And there’s a strong chance that wasn’t the factor. It’s pretty confusing

Definitely. I don't know if this kid is getting money. But the ones who do, they are going to receive criticism when they don't perform well.

Just a guess with McDonald...I think the staff didn't see this coming. Guessing PJ Fleck has been in his ear. IF there's money involved, it probably isn't a lot. I would bet that Verdon getting at least a few snaps with the 1's probably made McDonald a little more open to the conversation. As in, he was far from guaranteed a starting spot at ISU.

I think that the JUCO kid was in the mix right after Miller and Antoine left. The staff always has a plan for what to do if guys leave. I would guess that Morgan probably thought he'd be elevated to starter and when he saw they immediately had a JUCO on an OV, he's gone. And with 2 spots opening up in the two-deep, that made ISU an easy choice...no need to go visit KU or Mizzou.

We know Anthony and Beau are going to be on the field as much as possible. I think Verdon can be solid and I'm also interested to see how or if this Trevon Howard (freshman out of IMG) kid works into the rotation. He is already on campus and picked ISU while holding offers from Michigan, Arizona, Michigan St, Colorado, Louisville, and Minnesota.

They were after Howard a long time. And he has a college ready body. I could easily see him playing this season. With the lack of Safeties on the roster, he may be needed for special teams at the very least.

I mean, if they are cashing $100k checks to play college ball while the rest of us are 9-5, is there really a reason to hold back? Before, I could see it. They were just college kids playing a game. But if they are getting paid to play, they’re going to need to handle criticism that might not have been there a few years ago.
Just wait until some of them have inevitable struggles/bad games, get dinged up, or maybe just have a sub par season.

Fans, sportswriters and the NIL money gods will probably not hold back much.

The locker room atmosphere in that scenario also could be pretty brutal I'd imagine.

When I worked in Chicago it was 8:30-5:00. I agree a big city thing with long commutes.
