One thing I've enjoyed watching his tape is he seems to have a nice touch with the ball. On those short passes the ball isn't throw too hard so the receiver has an easier time catching it.

This kid has bigtime size at 6'4" 220lbs and his thought process is refreshing in this quote.

“Everybody’s just doing their job,” Moore told Cyclone Fanatic in a phone interview on Tuesday. “Running backs are running the ball really hard. Getting the linebackers and safeties to step up. Receivers are making the deep catches downfield getting the corners to play off. Always second guessing what we’re doing. The line is blocking really good, tremendous. I don’t know any sacks that have been given up that are [vicious] hits or anything. One of the better lines, I feel, in our district.”

I'm jealous you guys are getting this kid. He looks like he could be something very special. It's exciting to have that type of player coming from a HS in my hometown. I'm a Columbus alum, but I coached baseball at West for a few summers and it sounds like they have a darn good team.
If more Hawkeye fans on here were like you the world would be a better place.

I agree that the thing I'm most excited about is his frame. Looks to throw a good ball, and earlier posters are correct that his attitude seems great. But even just looking at the picture on the front page of CF, the kid definitely looks the part.

I think we got a good one in Moore. I have seen him play a couple times and the game just comes natural to him. Smart kid, good decision maker, big body, decent athlete, great long ball, good touch on short passes. Coaches kid so you like that too.

He's their coaches son too, right? Seems like those kids always have an upper hand in the mental aspect of the game coming in. Hopefully we can keep him if he gets more offers

Thanks. The problem is, I think maybe Clark, TM and myself are the only actual Hawk fans here. And the 3 of us are usually pretty decent. The rest of them are loser trolls who embarrass the whole fan base with their antics.

I was really impressed with Devon during the 5 or 6 minutes we talked on Monday. Kid knows his football and is very, very well spoken. This was the first time I'd gotten a chance to talk to him, but he might've been one of the best interviews I've had from a recruit.

I'm hoping to make it out that way when they play CR, Washington later this fall.

Is there an interview with O'Rien Vance coming? I know Iowa isn't an FBS talent-rich state, but it would be good to see ISU regularly landing at least some of the top in state recruits.

I'm working on getting ahold of O'Rien today. My hope is to have something tonight or tomorrow.

Can't find much video wise of him from this season, but here's a couple throws. Looks smooth.

He has good size and is a coach's son (both great qualities). He showed a lot of good throws on the clips. On the Junior highlight reel, I was surprised at how often the play was designed to roll out to his right. He was constantly throwing across his body in that clip. He got his shoulders square and threw a good ball, but it seemed odd that they wouldn't favor rolling to his strong side.

I know it's what they do on highlight reels, but I love how they circle him for every play. If you're recruiting a QB and struggle finding him, maybe recruiting isn't your forte.

I'm beginning to wonder if we should worry about keeping him committed, if he keeps piling up wins throughout this season.

I can't wait to chant his name when QB play goes sour here in a year or two! ;)

That was my immediate thought, too. God, I'm tired of the revolving door at the QB spot. I hope somebody has the job locked down by the time he gets on campus so it's never even a debate.

This is great and all, but I'll wait to get too excited until he solidifies himself as the best college QB in the state of Iowa.
