Seems to me that it is better for ISU if KU wins all of its nonconference slate. CU won, that wasn't looking good for a minute.

Kansas is still formidable, MSU probably has been underrated in most preseason analyses.

Dude, it's the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd game of the season for just about every team. You can't say there are no dominant teams when the season just started and most teams haven't hit their potential yet. I think Diallo being ineligible has hurt Kansas more than a lot of people think, but they are still loaded and will still make it a heck of a battle even if Diallo is ineligible (my guess is he is declared eligible when we play them, then gets declared ineligible afterwards, then becomes eligible again for the last game of the season against us).
We won't have a problem with seeding if we keep winning, so I'm cool with KU going 1-30 for all I care.
Watching those games makes me appreciate how far we have come, but also how much we have to gel as a team. We also have some growing to do. Thing is, I think we are more than capable of doing it.
I wasn't talking about KU specifically as much as all of bball. You don't need all season to see that there are no freakishly talented teams. The fact is the recruiting class of 2015 isn't as loaded with freakish talent as classes in the past have been. This benefits a team like ISU. Reid Forgrave said on the radio this morning that this will be the year of the senior.
As for KU....**** em. They were vulnerable last year and ISU ****ed up and couldn't take care of business. They are just as vulnerable this year IMO, especially if Diallo isn't eligible. Even if he is, who knows with young big men. Maybe he's the next Embiid or maybe the next Alexander.
Watching KU and OU makes me think the Big XII race is going to be incredible. We have a lot of things to improve on, as do all teams this time of year, but OU looks scary good.
Actually, NO. They come into conference season with that kind of record, the Big 12 conference already has the officials on high alert to keep it that way. 5 on 8 constantly, we've seen this before in this corrupt conference.
F KU. Loved that they lost. ISU is too good of a team to care what the rest of the conference is doing. ISU just needs to take care of themselves. Let everyone else burn for all I care.
I feel a lot better about our chances vs Kansas after watching last night. Bragg will be a solid player but without Diallo they are not dominant down low with Traylor/Lucas/Mickelson. Plus Graham started and played 38 minutes and looked like the worst player on the court
I'm not sure we watched the same Memphis game as I saw a vulnerable OU team. KU looks vulnerable as well. So does ISU. Any of those three could win it, any of them could really underperform, and any of them could catch fire and win the whole thing. But no one looks scary good right now in my opinion
Hard to judge KU with Diallo, and you better believe they will add Diallo either soon or right before they play ISU
Agree here, there are areas in each of our rosters where any team can be exploited.
Heck, OU should have lost to Memphis...they totally blew it down the stretch. I'll give OU some credit, had some big baskets late, but mainly due to Memphis imploding. Good road win for the Dirt Burglars. But no way they looked "scary good."
