Emiah leaving team

If you don't see CPR get after a player then you aren't watching. I hear complaints from fans asking why CFH doesn't do it more. So which is right?

Coach has far more players who would back him and his style as compared to the 4-5 that wouldn't. As others have posted, his style is no secret and he has toned it down. Your comment for him to retire is just so far off base as to even warrant a response. Wow.

All this harping blaming coach Fen when there isn't a single person, not one, who has a clue why this happened reminds me of a bunch of old harpies sitting on the bus bench gossiping.

I'm just mad that this keeps happening; yea, it could be something completely different, but when Jess left and after todays news, my mind goes to one reason. But I know one thing, Fen. can't change his style of coaching, cuz that's who he is.

This one hurts. I really think that Em was going to be a solid contributor this year. BF has always ran hot on the coaching sidlelines. This is not new behavior. The only players that left (lately) due to his temprament have been Schroll and now Em. So I will not going down the path of this becoming an epidemic as some are saying in this thread.

Cydney posted some of her dads posts that are probably the most telling. You could tell that he wa not happy with the way that she was being used on the court. So, it wasnt JUST the Iowa game disaster. She already had it in her mind that she was not happy. That just pushed her over the edge. BF knew what was up - that would explain why she did not see the floor the first half against Fairfield.

Finally, some can see it as a positive and some a negative. I really think that it is BF's "system" that leads to a lot of unhappy players. They play it a slow it down and pass it around style of offense. You could just tell that Em was not suited - mentally - for that kind of system. She seemed to be more of a creative and attacking style of player. on defense she liked to leave the person that she was guarding to come and try and poke at the ball. I can tell you from watching BFs teams in the past that this is not acceptable. You leave your person - then they are open - and open person is never acceptable to BF.

Everything will be fine and we will bounce back from this - but it does hurt

I know EXACTLY what happened, and I'm not going into any great detail right now. But there will be a statement very soon! First let me say, some of you have hit the nail right on the head, and some of you are so far off you shouldn't even comment. I will tell you what it's not. Emiah has very good grades. Always been a good student, and thru all of what has transpired she has managed to maintain a B average! She loved ISU, it was her dream to play here. She could care less about being the leading scorer, as RoyalClone has stated because he's someone who has watched her career selfishness is not in her make up! (Sorry Royal Clone she wont be at UMKC, she will be directed away from the Midwest) She doesn't have a problem with a TOUGH coach her AAU coach was no pushover. But several things transpired, that myself her, and her mom didn't like, and so a change was needed. That's all I will say for now. To those of you who were supportive we thank you.
What changed the dream to play here? I wish her the best of luck and happy holidays.

Kids leave programs. It happens. She might be an emotional person who did not like the way the coach treated her. She sounds like a bright kid. Oh well next lady in.

Thanks Ray. Sorry to see her leave. Too bad the issue couldn't be resolved. Give her my best.

Ray,
I am sorry that she has to leave. No one knows why girls act the way they do but best wishes and hopes that where she goes she does not encounter such there!

This is just my opinion, but when I go to womens basketball games or watch on tv, i always get an uncomfortable feeling when fennely yells at his players. Look at CJL, she never yells and yet they get to the elite 8; even look at Hoiberg, he hardly yells at his players(except the times when he yells at Luscious for trying to look cool). And i hardly see CPR yell at his players, he just goes crazy at the refs. I just don't believe you have yell like that at your players to get the most out of them. This won't be popular, but I think Fen. should consider retiring

You must have never seen Rhoads go off on one of his kickers after they shank a kick.

I'm not sure how to take this statement but seems like you are saying the other girls on the team weren't making her feel welcome which I seriously doubt is the case.

So it's not grades, not homesickness, not too tough of a coach, not that she didn't like ISU, not that she was too selfish. Well, that doesn't leave much left. But I think I understand now. Thanks.

For whatever reason (I agree it appears questionable), it's a total crock that she bails on the team mid-season, especially given her PT and role in the rotation.

Yeah, we'll you should ask someone why she started the Iowa game if you really wanna see selfish!!! She didn't bail on the team we did what was best for her, you have no clue what was going on, and nobody cares who thinks its a crock. Let your kid be in he situation, then see how you feel!!

I dont know what I would feel but I sure wouldnt be posting on a public fan forum. None of us know whats going on in this situation and you arent going to find too many positives posts about it here. I'm not sure what you're trying to do by posting here now. Sorry. Sorry this didnt work out and we wish your family the best in the future.

Really doesn't matter what you understand you really don't know. What's sad is most of you sit in judgement over an 18yr old kid leaving your precious program. What I'm not going to do is bash the program over tis issue. There is more than plenty I could speak on and could say so much it would make our head swim, but that's not what I'm going to do. This situation just didn't workout!! Enough with the speculation, and comments, because truth of he matter is, Emiah, her mom, myself, and the coaches know what the issue is!!! Let it go!!

I wasn't trying to be a ****. I was basically just summarizing your post.

You aren't doing her or your family any favors by posting here. She left the team and you should start posting on the board of the school you picked for her to go to next.

Either tell the entire story or stop posting and move on. It's funny that you feel the need to defend your daughter to anonymous message board posters.

I wish this program was a little less of a ******* soap opera but it apparently it is just that these last five years or so.
