Good chance. FIA and weight regulations are pretty clear. Sounds like Merc reps called to see the stewards just a few moments ago. We will have wait to see what they do

Gotta feel bad for George. He was so fired up. How could they miss the weight. That’s bizarre at this point in 2024

No cool down lap to pick up rubber and the one stop strategy lead to loss of rubber due to wear on his tires.

Carlos doesn’t deserve this much of a downgrade sheesh

I’m absolutely shocked that Williams is his landing spot. They must be offering a pretty good pay day. Carlos is a very good driver and definitely deserves a better car.

Everywhere he could have gone was a downgrade, unfortunately he's going to have to suffer for a couple years before a chance at a top spot opens for him again.

Williams had to do a LOT of infrastructure work which Vowles has invested HEAVILY in. They were running stuff on Excel for gods sake.

I'm sure that contract has a lot of outs, should a top seat become available.

Carlos is stuck between being not good enough for a top team to make room for him and being too good for the rest of the pack. Williams isn't the worst place for him, likely better than Audi or Alpine.

You have to wonder if all the uncertainty at Alpine, and the refresh Audi project, led to this decision because it seemed the most stable.

That was my first thought, says more about Audi and Alpine than anything.

Vowles is giving Williams a ton of cred, hopefully the car shows it was worth it next year.

Completely agree on Vowles changing the Williams landscape.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didnt Williams (Albon) have a decent 2nd half, last yr? Will be interesting to see if that happens again, this yr.
