Ames is #1! And considered a metro area worth tracking. Cool, you all beat out Iowa City but doesn't speak well to the prospects of fans in the stands.

Conveniently...basically these are all college towns where anywhere from 20,000 to 40,000 students just came back from all points of the compass. Ames also was one of the very few that actually tested all incoming dorm residences, thus self-identifying a large percentage of the positives. I would have been shocked if we weren't near the top...shows the testing works. Also gives the university the opportunity to isolate and prevent the thing from totally getting out of control.

Schools that don't test are simply incubating cases as the virus silently spreads...or trying to prevent any "making the news" stories like the above to come out. That sort of plan is a simple recipe for failure.

While I have issues with in-residence teaching by ISU, at least they went into it with their eyes wide open. Let's see if they can slow down the case load and keep it under control.

Not exactly sure.
It really doesn't. It stops most of them, but lets not pretend like all politicians are equally corrupt.

Comes down to your thoughts, beliefs and perceptions. Most people who knew Bernie Madoff thought he was a great and decent guy until his scheme fell apart; then he was trash. As we learned from the Wizard of Oz; we are not supposed to look behind the curtain.

I don’t think Iowa state testing everyone has much to do with the numbers now. I also think plenty of schools tested everyone.

there were low numbers when students came back. Now it’s high.

What? That's like saying there was no water in the tub when I first turned on the water. Now it's full. Thanks for clarifying what knowlesjam said.

Here try this article. Lots more reasons to not wear a mask. Though, granted it's more psychological than physiological.

They make you suggestible; they make you more likely to follow someone else’s direction and do things you wouldn’t otherwise do. In short, they switch off your executive function – your conscience.

This will become a huge factor in the season. Better figure this out pretty soon.
