Class is tomorrow night! He usually only reviews a few people's photos in class, so I'm really hoping that I can get mine in. I may not be narrowing it down to 2. I'm having a little trouble doing so.

I played piano from about age 8 through my freshman year of high school. Haven't touched it since, except to plunk out a few singing parts I had for my church choir. I would really like to learn how to play again, but when I try, I either get frustrated at how bad I've gotten or that where I used to be is WAY harder than I remember. I would really like to get a piano and take the time to re-learn but don't have nearly enough space. I have thought a couple of times about buying an electronic keyboard and setting it up in a spare room just to monkey around a little.

I really enjoy coaching, woodworking, landscaping, gardening. I have summers off to do all of that. Besides surfing cy fan

I think one of these years I'll buy a boat. Or a tailgating bus for the fall. Tailgating might be my favorite activity.

Weather fascinates me. I really want to go storm chasing sometime. Really regret not taking and meteorology classes at ISU.

I went and registered for an Intro to Forging Night at a local art center, partly inspired to finally get going by this thread. Four hours of hammering hot metal, woohoo!

That sounds really interesting! I would likely lose a finger.

I've really been debating recently on whether or not to become a Twitch streamer. I could start out part time and go from there depending on the success. I follow a few guys that talk about it pretty candidly so I'm not one of those people who thinks its simply playing video games for a living.

I dunno, I think it'd be interesting to see the dynamic of it from the inside. But I also worry that turning a hobby into a job can be troublesome.

Invite me as a guest and I'm in.

Hey! I just wanted to update, as class was last night. I submitted #1 (the flower), #5 (tree), #6 (rose), and #7 (lots of purple flowers). His favorite was the tree, followed by the rose (although he thought that should be cropped into a square). He really liked #7, but wishes that I could have somehow misted the cobweb to make it stand out, and he also liked #1 - but thought it would have been better from straight-on, rather than behind the flower.

I signed up for the Intermediate class that starts 8/4, just because I really enjoyed it.

I did take some more photos last night, although they're totally unedited. I don't know if they're better, worse, or the same, but I do know that I'm getting to know my camera better.

Re: Friday OT #1 - Secret (Or Not-So-Secret Interests)

I don't know if this really counts but I really want to learn how to play guitar. Musical things come very easy to me but every time I try to learn I just kinda quit after a week or so. Not really give up, but just don't put an effort to find the time to practice. I can play a lot of chords but can't put them together which apparently is kind of important
Get Rocksmith for the PC/Playstation/Xbox. It may help you keep your interest.

I like the bee on the flower in 5.

I really like 1, 3, and 5. I like how you have the front parts in focus.

I would think the hardest part is always promoting yourself. Also, what type of games would you be playing?

Thanks, guys. 5 is my favorite, too, but I also like 1 and 3. (I'm mad that I cut off the flower in 2.) It's really awesome how nice you are - I am not under any illusions that I'm good at this, but I'm enjoying learning my camera. Reading everyone want to learn things in this thread pushed me to want to take the next class, so thanks to you guys. It would be fun to see if any of the people in here come back in a few months and update their progress.
