How many wins will it take next year to keep you hopeful about the program?

Not about wins for me, but how we lose. My issues with freaking out this year were over getting our ***** kicked every game we lost. I don't have a problem with losing, as long as we look like we belong on the field. Most of the time this past year, we did not look like we belonged on the field at all.

We will not beat Texas in Austin, and I don't think we have beat them since 1990 so longer than I have been alive.

Wont beat Texas in Austin??? Are you even a Cyclone fan? ISU beat Texas in 2010 IN Austin 28-21. Not to mention should have beat them in Ames this last year, but that's besides the point.

beat Iowa

I hope your forgot the jimlad. If ISU fans think this way they are either over 60 or are clueless.

As I said before, the expectations of this program need to improve. People actually think a season is successful if we beat Iowa? Was 2007 a success? 3-9 with a victory over Iowa.

Let's stop thinking that only beating Iowa and a cool locker room video each year is a successful season.

Considering the coach, yes.

6 regular season wins would be encouraging - 7 or better and I would be ecstatic.

Bowl or bust. Anything less and CPR's seat starts to get warm. 6-6 is certainly a reasonable goal.

Five wins with the maximum of one catastrophic blowout loss would have me thinking positive going forward. To me it's more about how we lose than the number of losses, save of course the unforgivable FCS loss.

The 2013 games like Baylor and K St, and to a lesser extent OSU and OU (2nd half) are the ones that really make me think, "It's never gonna happen man." An ISU team should never lose 41-7 to KSU anymore - that was absolute rock bottom for me.

IMO Iowa State beats Toledo, Kansas State, Kansas, West Virginia, and one other game. Somewhere between 4-6 wins seems most likely. Not that anyone asked for my opinion...

I would hope we beat NDSU considering they lost their coach and almost the entire starting lineup from last year.

Here nor there
With a good offensive scheme and some solid teaching of fundamentals, I think this is anywhere from a 4 to 8 win club, depending on bounces and injuries.
