We only have carpet in the basement and that might get vacuumed a couple times a year (we rarely use or basement). The rest of the house is hardwood and tile and Roomba once a week takes care of that.

We have one dog and run our Roomba about every other day. I am amazed at how much that thing picks up every time we run it. It does a much better job than I thought it would.

We run our iRobot vacuum daily. Run the big Dyson once a week. Touch up the corners of the house with the cordless Dyson every other week or so.

Dog hair. Dog hair EVERYWHERE.

We run a neato botvac daily upstairs (all bedrooms) during the day and on the main floor at night. We use the central vac to make sure we get all of the corners once a month probably. Wife has two cats and I hate the hair.

Once a week downstairs where visitors would hang out. But upstairs ... it's thunderdome up there.

4 kids, light carpet, and the time of the year where there is sand, dirt, sticks, etc.? Couple that with what I believe to be an undiagnosed case of OCD, and I vacuum easily twice a day.

I would like to vacuum more often. I have the hoover robot vacuum, but I don't use it as often as I should. the problem I have is that I have an older house and it has troubles getting across some of the dividers. Additionally, my current roommate is kinda sloppy and leaves stuff on the floors, which gives the vacuum troubles.

Before my current roommate, I would probably vacuum and wash the floors twice a week. Most of my house is wood floors with the kitchen being tile and the dining room being laminate. My house gets very dirty fast, and I think it's because of the old vents I have (Although I have a new HVAC system!).

Once a week on the main floor and once every few months upstairs. Very glad I don’t have a dog this time of year. The cats are bad enough.

Depends on whether we're getting visitors. Usually once a week.

Ours usually only gets the vacuum if we are having company over or it's noticeably dirty (walking across it barefoot and feeling a spot with lots of crumbs or dirt). But, I don't have kids or a dog.

Also, our Dyson ball and Dyson handheld vacuum have been the best investments ever.

Need to make an investment in a good vacuum. I'm harder on them than I need to be. Basically anything in my path I'm taking a run at vaccuming it up. Usually leads to a short life for my vacuums.

FWIW: we've had two Dyson's in approx. 15 years between a townhome and two houses. Have been great. Our cleaning person says that our Dyson is her favorite and that it works much better than her other clients' vacuums.
Also, if interested, Dyson has an ebay store where refurbished vacuums are much cheaper than normal.

Every Sunday afternoon, or as I refer to it Chore Day.

We have 2 cats and a dog w/ zero carpet and hardwood and tile everywhere. I have a dust buster that I use several times a week to get the dust bunnies that gather in all the typical spots, and on Sundays I get out the vacuum and do all the floors and steps.

We got this Shark at Christmas and are generally pleased with it. Our complaints are that the "holding" bin is quite small so it fills up quick with a dog, cat, two kids etc. but it is quick and easy to empty. Very easy to attach/remove the various items. Cordless is much nicer than I thought it would be and we can clean almost the entire house with it on a single charge. We had debated getting a robot one but decided to go this route since with two kids and a daycare in the house it isn't always the most cleaned up to run on a schedule. For some odd reason my wife and I both do not mind vacuuming either.

We also have an upright corded shark that we got a few years ago. Still works great and we plan to keep it as a backup.

DJ Roomba vacuums the hardwoods daily. Carpet gets done once a week.
