Is or is not the color that 90% of fans wear, that the university sells, and that all university materials come in, the primary color of the university? That is cardinal for all of the above. Primary color in the fanbase, primary color in the marketplace, primary color on every single piece of correspondence ive gotten from the university.

That's a HUGE exaggeration. On a football gameday, I see almost as much Gold as Cardinal.

There are actually only 2 or 3 people in this entire thread that said they won't wear gold. Not a huge deal. Obviously KU fans won't be wearing gold, so whats another handful of people?

Some people will simply forget or will not be informed. Not a huge deal

Some people don't like being told what to do. If they want to wear their cardinal colored shirt and their new wallet chain, respect it even if you don't agree with it. They have that right and are still Cyclone fans.

Just don't make fun of them, you may have some CARDINAL blood pouring out your forehead

There. Fixed that for you.

Just buy a gold shirt and STFU. This stuff looks good on TV, and catches the eyes of recruits.

I will never fully understand why these promotions are so hard for ISU fans to pull off, or why so many ISU fan need to come up with every excuse in the book to not do something that will only make the athletic program look good to the entire nation and recruits.

Freaking Iowa can pull off a promotion that stripes their stadium in black and gold, but Cyclone fans cant follow the simplest of requests...

Exactly! Just had Christmas, you all that don't have gold shirts could have asked for one. It is not like we do this once every ten years. Go to Hyvee, they sell either color for a very reasonable price.

I will clarify. I have no problem with Gold Rules and appreciate the athletic department tremendously. I like the idea of the fanbase unifying under one color. The thing that I don't like is that it typically always coincides with a team that we share colors with, and in my opinion, comes off as us changing because of them.

I would never wear cardinal to a gold rules game to "stick it to the man" or try to make a point. I think that is stupid and immature.

Maybe other fans don't have the same inferiority complex?

*****Iowa State to wear GOLD jersey's*****

Just got this message sent to me

Than I got a message that Christopherson and JVB hate the Gold jerseys and are refusing to wear them so they are wearing the cardinal jerseys. It's going to be really confusing watching the game

I cant speak for JVB, but because of Christopherson's thug like lifestyle he is not allowed to wear gold.

If anyone doesn't have a single gold shirt in their arsenal of ISU gear, they either don't have much ISU gear or they have chosen to not have any gold because it is most certainly out there and available.

Good luck to the Cyclones tonight. Between this thread and the Johnny's thread I can't stomach anymore on here tonight.

Maybe just season tickets. It's most definitely on mine.

More support that this is a half *** attempt to recreate what other shools have done. Be original and people will get excited. Copy what the hawks do? No thanks.

take a breath everyone.

this isn't about trying to offset kansas. it's about trying to unify a fanbase. to try and be bigger then 1. iowa state is bigger then me. it's bigger then you. this is an attempt to do something FUN.

have FUN with it. PARTICIPATE. or just continue to act like a child who wants to pout when they don't get their way.

i just don't get the hate. i have probably close to 30 different shirts/sweatshirts with ISU stuff on them. sure i have more cardinal then gold, but i bet i have close to 10 gold/yellow shirts/sweatshirts. it's one of our 2 primary colors, and of the 2, i like it better. i realize that not everyone does, and that's fine, but i'm not ******** at cardinal rules-i just wear one of my many red shirts and have FUN.

please just try and participate with this. it's not about you, it's not about me, it's not about kansas, it's about the school we all love-ISU.

If it had nothing to do with Kansas, we'd do a cardinal-out since thats what 99% of our fans have, which is cardinal. That would do a much better job of looking good on national tv.

Hell, look at our merchandise list. 90% is either cardinal or cardinal on white\gray. You see this anytime you look at our fans in a crowd too. If you want to do a 'color-out' you dont use a secondary color, you use your primary color.

The problem I have with this is it is just the status quo. Cardinal stands out better and it is something different or something or out of the ordinary that signifies a special event like playing the #3 team in the nation on your home floor when ISU is doing something special like honoring the legendary Johnny Orr. This isn't like it is just another game against Chicago State. I would like to think asking the fans to wear something yellow to a special event like tonight wouldn't be asking too much.

For those of you that are worrying about breaking the bank to buy a yellow ISU t-shirt you need to stop by North Grand Mall to the Strawberry Patch where you can pick up a yellow ISU shirt for less then $10. I know... it is a huge financial commitment for some people but who doesn't need more ISU clothing? Come on people.
