if Iowa State plays like it's capable of playing (Alabama A&M and BYU), ISU has a chance to blow Iowa out.

Marble will be babbed...the only matcuhup I'm concerned about is Booker-Gibson on Woodbury....though I think Gibson will get Woodbury in foul trouble early.

Iowa State should win...and I'm not saying this because I'm an ISU fan...I've watched Iowa (against Wichita St and parts of Gardner-Webb and Western Kentucky), they REALLY struggle against athletic big men. Cleanthony Early went psycho against Iowa and was a big difference in that game.

If I had to pick a guy that would have a breakout game in this one, it would have to be Booker...I bet Hoiberg will try to stretch the floor to draw Woodbury out and leave driving lanes for Clyburn and Lucious.

The overall athleticism of Iowa State will be too much for Iowa in this one.

I wish I was as confident as most on here about this game. The argument could be made ISU is 0-2 in "real" games this year. Maybe 1-2 if you think BYU is a real team. I believe in this team come February and March but I still have doubt about how good they are right now.

Granted, Iowa isn't any good so who knows. I hope Lucious keeps playing well.

I think you can put Florida Gulf Coast in there also. That team was pretty dang good.

I think KL got the message from Fred. We are now better than we were two weeks ago.

I bet we play a close game and then blow them out in the second half. I just don't see us losing this game.

As long as ISU is playing with consistent focus and effort I think they should win. I don't think Iowa is athletic enough to defend ISU if the Cyclones are in constant attack mode.

What's Iowa's record in "real" games? I know they lost to VA Tech and needed a comeback in the 2nd half to beat Chauncey Gardener or Gardner Chance or whatever

I think Vegas is going mostly by advanced stats sites projecting a 2 pt win for Iowa (thanks largely to the 4 pt bump that home court tends to give). All this talk about Iowa being terrible, and I'm not seeing much evidence for or against it. Va Tech has shown that their win wasn't a complete fluke by beating OSU, so I wouldn't hold that game against Iowa, especially since it was an away game. I don't want to defend Iowa, but everyone who thinks they're total garbage are likely in for a surprise. I think it's going to be a great game, ~50-50 win prob.

You'd think the more experienced team has a better chance to keep its composure in rivalry games, but this one still worries me. Concerned White could get Melvin in foul trouble, too.

I hope you are wrong. It does us no good if they are garbage. We win, and it doesn't matter because they suck. We lose, and it is a disaster. I hope we win, and Iowa goes on to win the Big 10. Makes us look better.
