Might be the next Iowa State team to go to the NCAAs if we don't learn how to run a basic offensive set

can't wait for people to hate on this, but at the moment ISU has an NIT resume.

Best win is against Miami, 2nd best win is Indiana St.?
Losses - vs. Gonzaga (not damaging), vs. Cincinnati (not horrible), @ Iowa (horrible)

The best teams in the conference are teams style wise ISU struggle against (Kansas, West Virginia, Baylor). As of now ISU has a bubble type resume but the lack of potential quality wins on the schedule is a little worrying.

I think if things ended today, ISU would be left out.

No doubt about it. If it ended today, it would take the committee less than a minute to set us aside. We're not on the tourney track at all.

at this point i don't care if his defense is non existent but play Young 20 mins a game. Holden should be holding a towel on the bench. Babb starts. Naz comes in for no longer than 3 mins at a time to limit the his liability. Monte needs to be just Monte and not force it.

I think we miss Georges. Just a hunch.

But how does this not look like it's being addressed 9 months later with veteran players?

Something's not right...not ready to start putting it on Prohm since even Fred had bad many losses in December, but this isn't an Iowa team that should be able to beat many teams even if they play with their hair on fire.

Would he foul the towel?

Iowa is flat out garbage, giving up about 90 a game, and we can't score against them. Just an embarrassment.

Iowa will go on to have a horrible year, mark it down. ISU can be pretty good if they want to, we'll see if they want it or not? Tonight they obviously didn't want it or didn't care. Looked like both.

Way up there
Been awhile since we hosted an NIT game, with our non con resume, it'll take 9 or 10 big 12 wins to get us in the real tourney. Even if we took care of everyone at home, who do we beat on the road?

I'll make this the postgame thread. Please confine your thoughts to this thread.

Integrals, for loops, multi dimensional arrays and footnotes with bibliographies and .... no wait... baseball, hot dogs, app..... arghghhh.

Pretty incredible how many bunnies we have missed this year. When did we become such a terrible offensive team?

There are some good things about this team, but just as many bad. We absolutely need to have intensity and execution- we win by outplaying other teams. Frankly, Iowa looked bigger, more talented, and better coached. Some of that is on Prohm, but we had lofty expectations for a group consisting of a couple solid players and a handful of over-achievers.

Guys like NWB, Jackson, and Young need more time. Prohm may need to bench guys once and awhile. JFC

I agree with NWB and Young, but not Jackson. NWB should be starting over Naz IMO, and then bring Naz off the bench for a spark. Young is WAY better than Holden too and should start ahead of him as well.

And Bowie needs more minutes too IMO. If Burton starts the game and misses a few, then Bowie might as well be in there because if Burton is not hitting then he's a liability on offense because he hogs the ball too much.

Here nor there
Very concerning how bad we are right now. That was a bad Iowa team that just took us to the woodshed.

Monte is just a game manager, and we are seeing that being exposed this year. Naz isn't the same. Matt is good but he is better as a role player. Burton is inconsistent. Holden isn't a Big 12 player, Bowie is just slightly better. D-Jack isn't as good as advertised. Babb and Young have potential and are younger bright spots on the team, but aren't ready to carry the load.

Very disappointed in our stand around offense, it's horrible.
Sadly this is spot on. Maybe add that Prohm is not going to gain us many advantages too.

When at our best, we're decent. That's the most optimistic outlook right now.

Tonight Iowa played like a better team. It took them to play out of their minds or just do things very different than their 3-5 start, but they were better.

ISU looked nice Monday night but are pretty much hot garbage if the other team plays hard.

Here are my honest non trolling thoughts.

ISU is the better team. Iowa is young, and will have ups and downs. ISU came in over cocky, and expected to do whatever they wanted. This Iowa team doesn't remember what it feels like to blow large leads. Those guys are gone.

So maybe this will get guys like Morris and Long to take opponents seriously, rather than talk **** before games. Obviously they aren't good enough to just walk into another teams house and impose their will.
