All this says is that CMC and JP are really concerned about getting to 6 wins this year.

Nonsense. Making sure we have six is wise, but there is much more...primarily taking advantage of the new redshirt rule and seeing what we have in younger talent at the end of the season...which would be a huge benefit even if we were sitting at 4 wins. Improving bowl seeding is a legitimate reason as well.

A good friend of mine saw Incarnate Word in person, against New Mexico, and said they are horrible. UNM's starting QB (an option QB) was out with an injury so they ended up throwing the ball a lot and had a lot of success. Yes, New Mexico threw the ball all over this team! We should be able to destroy this team quite easily.

Maybe they read the pundits' predictions or CMC knows more than any one else in year 3 of his football program, which historically, anyone that's built a program, especially at a place that doesn't have very much (good) history in football, is still very much a rebuilding year. Sure last year was a good amount of wins, but it doesn't mean there still aren't deficiencies.

Ya take any win you can get.

How many wins did you pick before the season started? 6?

After seeing the news, I was trying to figure out how Incarnate Word would become a national power by December 1st.

Honestly the only thing i'm disappointed with here is that we didn't sign them up for a 10 year contract. More of these games, less of teams from the Valley.
Then this post showed how they’d be an FCS title contender by the time we worked them into the schedule on a regular contract, five or six years down the line. o_O

Why give up an important bye week?

And adding to this, why not have a win at the end of the year that gives most of the guys some rest while building everyone's experience?

I wish I couldn't believe that anyone would complain about this. It's a brilliant move that works out in great ways for us.

Lol.

Kudos to JP for getting this done. For some that say more options could have happened with the hurricane....also more folks scrambling for games.

My hope is we've secured bowl eligibility after throttling KSU....and this is a fun game for a lot of the young guys (or even seniors that haven't played and deserve some game time) to get game reps.

I echo props to JP for getting rhe 12th game. Glad he is and has been our AD for all these years.

I know they get a money boost but props go out to Incarnate Word for rearranging their schedule. Thanks to North Alabama too. I remember IW gave some scares to some teams a few years back so we better show up.

Lot easier to get your deer 1st season as you can possibly catch the very tail end of rut and the deer are a lot less skittish, also the group I hunt with goes 1st season.

That’s true for most people and understand what you mean.

We don’t have any issue filling our tags. My family has land that butts up next to a game reserve and county park. My dad and I usually just go sit along the terraces and wait.

Did Pollard say this was the reason 10/20 would not work?
I would have thought our reserves and true freshman would get a chance for a good deal of game time so it wouldn't be that big of bye week give.

The funny thing is if ISU was playing North Alabama no one would bat an eye, even though they are probably about the same team talent wise.
