I realize that Iowa would never get into an agreement like this, but I promise you the situations between the two schools would not be similar at all. Iowa fans would eat up those tickets fast!

MU did it they had two home games and the away game with Ark. St was at Arrowhead. So they really had 3 home games for a 2 for 1.

I disagree.

Sure they'd sell tickets, but woudn't be any different then other road games for them.

When Iowa played NIU at Soldier Field, they had around 25,000 there for a nonconference game against a MAC school. So it was completely different than a normal road game for them.

I just don't understand all of the complaining for a game that 1) gets us more exposure in a big market, 2) greatly benefits us financially, and 3) gets us out of an away game in Manhattan.

Why take a home game away from the fans? In this economy why move a game to KC. It is clear the KC fans dont care. It is one less home game, one less game with home field advantage for a team that is fighting to get 6 wins. It makes it hard for me to want to go when the hotel rooms rates are jacked up because it is the same weekend as the race, heck are there even rooms in KC for the weekend. Then I would have to figure out what I am goign to do with my kids. Then I would have to drive 3 hours to see 2 average FB teams play.

There are too many things wrong with this post to even respond to. It is one of the worst I've ever seen. Shameful.

Just like Flander said earlier with his 34 friends through the ticket office, my buddy that lives in KC and 3 other ISU grads recruited 27 friends from the area that just want to cheer against KSU to go to the game and they bought these tickets through the Chiefs. So thats another 31

I also disagree. Their fan base isn't some monolith that just automatically sells out every game their team plays in, no matter the place or the opponent.

On the other hand, it is a little cheaper for Hawk fans to make those road trips, since they can just snap those wheels onto the house and roll on out. That saves some hotel costs for them.

25,000 Iowa fans at Solider Field in Chicago to play Nothern Illinois in 2007 would disagree.

As we did when we played Florida State in 2002. First game of the season and a lot of excitement. That is a better comparison.

We'll have more then 11,000 at this game...

I'm just wondering how Arrowhead and the KC Chiefs are making any money on this deal?

40,000 fans @ an average of $45/ticket = $1,800,000 x 2 (for 2009 and 2010). Isn't that basically a breakeven number with what they're paying the two schools. If attendance is only 30,000 or 35,000, aren't the Chiefs/Arrowhead losing money?

You bet they are - and I'm sure they're not happy about Bill Snyder not exactly endorsing this idea either...

Still have concessions. I plan on purchasing at least $35 worth of beer at the game!

$8 a beer. $6 a hotdog $7 for a BBQ sandwich $22 parking makes a lot of money there.

Add one to that total. I got my ticket for free through a buddy that works for the AD at KSU. I will be the guy in red in the middle of the KSU season ticket holder section.

I plan on bringing my heckling "A" game.

+1. Couldn't agree more. And lots of fans who would never miss a game in JTS agree with you too.
