You weren't agreeing with the USA Today, even you should know that, you were agreeing with an opinion from a writer who graduated from the big 10. Maybe next you'll post an Aaron Craft quote and claim it proves your point.

And you're a troll, anyone who spends as much as you do asking why no one is talking about football in basketball threads has to be a troll or just too dense to read thread titles.

What? Think I'm a troll all you want, I don't care. I only post in Iowa threads, I don't go around derailing other threads, or topics, or try to crap on any portions of this board in any way, shape or form. The mods have warned me twice about staying on topic, so I drop whatever it was they wanted me to drop, and get back on topic. If you so thin skinned, that you can't handle a differing opinion, you might want to avoid the interwebs.

I can handle a differing opinion, if you want to look like you don't know much about basketball be my guest. But don't get all butthurt when someone points out how foolish it is, that's just how message boards work.

If I look stupid because I think players determine the game, and not a call with 1:30 + remaining in the game, I am fine with any label you'd like to give me.

BTW thank you once again for proving my original point.

Deanvogs, you put a like on my post, but you are a major contributor to this thread. What does that mean?

Uthoff will be a solid player, Jok would be worst guard on Hoiberg's roster this year.

I don't necessarily disagree, but I would take him over Bluford based on potential alone. Also I'd say based only on the very small sample size this season he has an edge over SDW.

You posted this:

Seventeen pages on a game that isn't going to take place for over a month. You folks need an occupation.

I thought it was funny, and spot on. I know it was taking a shot at me as well, but I'm not some dude who is so serious that I can't laugh at myself. You post something funny, it is funny, even if it is at my expense.....

EDIT: For instance BigMan and Cytwins posted shots at me, but they aren't funny or clever in any way, so I didn't "like" those posts.

NIT wins:

Indiana State
Stoney Brook
Virginia
Maryland.

Not a solid run... just a good win against Maryland.

They won games they should have .. and thats all that matters... BUT, IMO not a solid run.

Agree to disagree. In my opinion, runner up in a tournament is a solid run.

Counting the exhibition Jok is 2-14 from 3pt this season, how is that an edge over SDW?

Jok is 2-8 from 3pt this season, how is that an edge over SDW who has played in one game?

I said it was a very small sample size, but since you ask 25%>0% and through one game against the same team 20%>0% plus he had 11 points and 5 boards. I hope that a year from now there is no question that SDW is the better player, but nobody has seen enough to say one way or the other. I have watched every minute of all 3 games and am basing my opinion off of what I have seen. I have a feeling in a couple years we are going to wish Jok was playing in Ames, hope I'm wrong.

Ummmm the Hawks blew that lead and the game, NOT the refs. Cost them a spot in the NCAA tourney as well, and they didn't deserve to go when you blow that kind of lead.

So apparently you were busily correcting everyone on your boards then?

If we're counting the exhibition SDW is 1-3 from 3pt on the season and Jok is 2-14. 33% with 2 missed shots > 14% with 12 missed shots

Considering there is nothing pointing to Jok being anything besides a defensive liability at this point I think you will be wrong

Link please? I can tell you I wasn't involved in a thread blaming the Refs. I was too busy drinking at a bar, ******** and moaning about blowing that lead.

Plus I'm not the internet police, I can't correct all the stupid on the internet.....I pick the battle that I want to fight.

Fair point. I was not able to watch either exhibition, so they did not influence my opinion.

I also agree 100% regarding Jok's D. I watched one of his high school games (against Custer's team) and felt his D and ball handling needed work before being a good college player. He definitely shot the ball well in that game though.

A few years ago we may have regretted it, with the kids Fred is bringing in and how he develops shooters I highly doubt we'll want him over any of our starting guards in the next three years. Iowa could legitimately be helped by their 27% 3 point specialist getting back from injury, if we added a 27% 3 point shooter to our team he would drastically bring down our average lately, our big men even shoot much better than that.

UNO sucks. Just looking at the box score, they shot horrible and despite getting severely homered on foul calls, still almost pulled out a win on the road. Iowa will be a rocky shooting team again and a fringe bubble pick. Top 10, ROFL!

I gotta ask, what is the obsession with Jok by some fans? Because he's from WDM? Because at one point many years ago he was supposed to be better than Harrison Barnes? I know very little about him except that he scored a lot in high school. Maybe he turns into a great player in a few years, but he was not a big loss other than having to face him once/year.

Where did the top 10 thing come from? Is it just some message board chatter or did someone outside Haweyland actually say this?
