Many thought that BEFORE they played ISU. You have to remember that while Michigan made the NCAA finals, they also finished 4th in the BIG.

Riiiight, if anyone is qualified to look down their noses at Michigan, it's…well, let's not go there.

18-2, with close losses to Indiana (69-65) and Michigan St. (62-59)

But if you want to think that Hilton is the only tough place to play at, knock yourself out.

So the only two losses came to the teams with pulses, and no, Wisconsin doesn't have a pulse. I'm sure Campbell is shaking in their boots at the thought of going back to that House of Horrors that is CHA. The schedule turned badly for Iowa this year and the main deficiencies in this seasons Hok squad (can't shoot 3, can't defend 3) are quickly becoming the most important parts of CBB. Plus, I don't doubt they will get beat by a couple of teams that Hok fan thinks they have a god-given right to beat every time.

AKA 0-2 vs ranked teams.

Hilton isn't the only tough place to play, BYU is pretty tough as well

Lets clarify here a bit. We are talking a #1 and #2 seed (not all ranked teams are equal). I'm sorry, but Michigan isn't a #1 or #2 seed this year. Most of the #1 or #2 seeds that come into Hilton walk away with a win as well (Kansas).

So to clarify Iowa went 0-2 vs ranked teams at home last year and ISU went 2-1.

No to clarify, Iowa went 0-2 at home against #1 and #2 NCAA seeds. ISU went 0-1 at home against #1 and #2 seeds. Not Iowa's fault ISU played a weak schedule.

I'll give you credit there, that was pretty funny. You're right though, #22 Michigan State was playing real tough basketball when they beat Iowa in Historic Carver Arena.

I find it amusing that some are inclined to knock Michigan because they finished 4th in their conference...even though they made the NCAA finals! Ah...give me a 4th place any day in any conference if it comes with that finish to the season! Some fans might not seem to remember how great it is to cheer on your team while playing in the NCAA tourney (not to mention how difficult it is to get to the final game)!

39-16 At home in the Fran McCaffery Era

8 wins and 8 of those losses came in the first year with just a terrible team. Leaving 31-8 (.79) in the last three years.

Hoiberg:

13-6 year one at home
17-2 year two
17-1 year three
3-0 so far
50-9 total (.85)

Obviously Hilton is a better home court advantage, but lets not pretend like Carver is the easiest place to win in the world.

I don't think anywhere is easy to play on the road. ISU lost last year at Carver and they were the better team IMO so it's been proven it's not an easy place. Comparing Carver to Hilton though is laughable and any unbiased person would know that.

Every SOS I've ever seen is figured by where they end up at the end of the year. Did they change that and start rating SOS from when you played opponents? If so, that is very odd indeed.

Thought maybe a fellow Iowa fan could talk some sense into you

Where did I ever say that Iowa has a BETTER home court advantage? I said Hilton isn't the ONLY home court advantage....

Haha touche. Just saying it's not that crazy to think you're going to win on the road when you just did it the last time you played there. Like I said, I don't expect ISU to win at BYU (a tough environment)...I don't think Carver has gotten the street credit yet to be a tough place to play.

Hilton isn't the only tough place to play, BYU is pretty tough as well

Plus, you have to remember what a piece of **** move he made when he came down to visit Fred. The bad part is that it was a meeting they requested.

Plus, he makes Kevin McHale look like Fabio. And a 7 footer that plays below the rim???

What did Woodberry do during his visit? I always see people say that he acted like a ****** but no one ever gives an explanation.

You never said better, you've just been trying to equate the home court advantages. Which to anyone who knows or follows college basketball is ridiculous.

You must be losing it because the second part is 100% strawman. Who said that Hilton is the only tough place to play in bball? Good job though, you convinced me that playing on the road is tough in CBB, I bow to your insightful analysis.

I heard he tried to eat a baby triceratops and then after that didn't work he found an already dead teranodon and scavenged off that. No one was impressed.

If we are taking off a terrible year for Iowa, let's do it for ISU too. 37-3 after year one, that makes .93 winning percentage, quite a bit better than .79

Since we scored Niang who has panned out significantly better it would probably have been waste of a scholarship. He doesn't fit our system at all and doesn't even fit how Fran has said he wants them to play.

What's Woodybury going to do for ISU? Guard guys like KU's Whithey last year? Niang scored all day when the put Jeff Whithey on him. I think Basabe or Olesani for four years would have been more valuable in Hoiball even if Woodbury somehow ends up all conference caliber by his senior year.
