We still don't know enough about Iowa to proclaim that they are a good team. They haven't played anybody. Best team they played is a bad Xavier team, and looked terrible. UTEP is pure garbage. Game against Villanova should give us more information. It's easy to think that they are a good team when they beat up on a team that is as bad as UTEP, but you have to put it in perspective with how awful their schedule has been so far. Based on where we are currently at, I put the most weight on their performance versus Xavier. That may change after the Villanova game, but that is TBD.
I think we do know enough about Iowa to realize they are a good team. They could very well be the toughest team we'll play in the non conference after it's all said and done, with the possible exception of BYU because we had to play them in a hostile environment. Michigan isn't looking all that great anymore.
I still get this feeling that Niang and Ejim will get into foul trouble against Iowa, which will mean it probably will come down to how we hit our 3's again. Last year we couldn't hit them, and Iowa won. It is a MUST to keep Niang and Ejim out of foul trouble. And we will have to find a way to break their pressure too.
It's not likely going to be as easy of a game as some on here think. Iowa is pretty deep and play pretty tough defense. I'm still not impressed with their offensive skill players in the half court besides Marble. If we don't let them get out and run, they become very beatable. Aaron White can't score in the half court.
I like our chances, but it will be a very tough game. And I hate that. I want Iowa to be really bad. Unfortunately they aren't.
