Next press conference:you realize alot of people projected us to go 5-7 or 6-6 this year, right?
Haven't we lost 10 straight one score games? I doubt anyone projected that. Not sure KSU or oSu could do that if they tried. I'd have been fine with 6-6 in Dekkers first year until I saw how excellent our defense is...this record with this defense is just unacceptable. It's a Cy Young pitcher getting 0.5 runs/game support from his team. It's f#cking tragic.you realize alot of people projected us to go 5-7 or 6-6 this year, right?
Is this true? How many of our opponents have adjusted and performed better in the second half than the first half?I've seen other head coaches make more corrections at half time than I've seen Saint Matthew make 10 games into the season.

Why aren't their coaches making adjustments at halftime?
I don't. Although the line play has been leaky at times, he has had as much or more time to throw than many of his predecessors. You might bring up WR drops, but drops happen every season, every team etc. He throws too many INT and isn't seeing the field well. He is not the primary issue, but he is exacerbating it rather than alleviating it at this point. It's on the coaching staff to help him along, but no, I do not believe we should feel bad for him. It's not like the QB situation out east, where Ferentz was willfully trotting an ineffective Petras out there every week to get slaughtered by the opposing team and the media. Thank God Iowa's schedule lightened up, or I was going to be very concerned for his mental health. Dekkers has 2x more talent than Petras does, and he has better pieces around him. So no, I do not feel bad for Hunter Dekkers.I feel awful for Dekkers, he's got talent.
The beginning of this run of success we are on starts with him and Heacock deciding to change the way they play defense. And change it drastically.I’m feeling pretty discouraged about the direction things are heading. I don’t see a willingness to change. This is a common symptom of coaches who eventually lose their jobs. (Not saying Campbell will here anytime soon, but it’s similar)
It’s reminding me a lot of Matt Nagy in Chicago. He flourished early on in his tenure. But he refused to change when opposing teams caught on to some more predictable tendencies. It was “his way or the highway” and the Bears floundered thanks to it.
I don’t get the impression Campbell is willing to change how he runs things. I really don’t. This is what the greatest coaches like Saban and Gundy always recognize. It just feels like I’m bracing for the exact same staff and exact same boneheaded offensive schemes to return next year. It’s going to be painful to watch if this is what continues.
So you're confirming we're making halftime corrections, even if they're on defense? This is more about our defense than opposing offenses.
Look at the title of the thread. So you're confirming we're making halftime corrections, even if they're on defense?
Disagree about the OL. This is the worst pass protection ISU has had at least since year 1 of Campbell, maybe worse. Some of that is probably due to #28 being gone and allowing defenses to be more willing to blitz and stunt. If KU runs their garbage stunt every play junk defense they did this year vs. a team with Breece, he goes for 300 yards. If we keep 7 in to block 5 like we did at times vs. OSU, ISU wasn't letting a free rusher nearly untouched.I don't. Although the line play has been leaky at times, he has had as much or more time to throw than many of his predecessors. Pretty sure we would take 7 more heacocks on either side of the ball if we could.
There's very reasonable cases to replace Myers and Gordon. Possibly Manning. Possibly whoever WR coach is, as we don't see much development there...although we've gotten accustomed to having at least 1 stud receiver at all times. There's just not enough help after that.Talk of wanting to move on from CMC is laughable, but if he doesn't at least replace Myers it would be extremely disappointing.
