This is the first season where Campbell has felt even a little heat. You're not likely to make changes when everyone around you is telling you how good you are and you're being courted by big time schools and the NFL. He has some actual heat this year. It's premature to say he won't change anything because he hasn't been in a position like this yet as a head coach. We'll see what he does.
All that being said, the fact that we're all having this discussion right now with 4 wins this season is a testament to how far Campbell has brought this program, which shouldn't be overlooked. As maddening as the issues have been this year, if anyone deserves the benefit of the doubt, it's Campbell in my opinion.

I am very familiar with pre Campbell teams. Those teams were shaky in executing but also absolutely lacked talent.
I think he is who he is, so we're never going to have the aggressive, high flying offense that many people want. Campbell would rather have a grind it out, ball possession offense, and his coordinators and their play calling are going to reflect that.
Coupled with a great defense, it's a winning combination most years. This was just a learning year that was actually really close to being more.

I would just like to see some consistency in attempting different offensive game plans for more than a quarter, drive or play.
Why the **** would Manning go anywhere? He infuriates me too but the talent up front and running back right now is lacking. I for the life of me can’t understand why we don’t go under center on 4th and 1 with a big qb.
There is plenty of blame to go around but we can’t forget the kids have simply not executed in crucial times in multiple games even with disadvantages.
Texas and OSU possibly wins with late scores with dropped passes that would have likely gone in for tds.
KSU, Dekkers couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn on that last drive and when he did X dropped it for a first down.
So how would some of you feel if we executed the called plays and we were sitting at 7-3 instead of where we are at? How many people would you want fired then? Because most of you wouldn’t see our deficiencies at 7-3 because you’d be too happy.
I didn’t count Baylor and OU because they beat us.
I’m just tired of the negativity. I’m beyond frustrated with a lot of things this season don’t get me wrong. I think a change has to be made at the Oline coach and a much needed influx of talent needs to be made with personnel there as well.
Golesh looks good at Tennessee because he has the talent to look good. We do not have a lot of talent right now in the offense.
Last year was a major disappointment because the defense let us down in 2 games that we should have won comfortably. 9-3 instead of 7-5 would have been a huge improvement last year. I believe everyone was thinking Heacock had lost it. Turns out some personnel weren’t cutting the mustard at cornerback and safety. Those problems have been fixed with experience and transfers.
We have had it as good or better than we have ever had in the last few years. This year sucks and has been frustrating but it doesn’t feel like it did getting blown out every week. We had zero hope then.
Let Matt right the ship, he likely sees the problems better than we do.
The goal should be to be a "loyal opposition". Ask questions and point out problems, in order to help the guy in charge make things better.
Throwing people under the bus is garbage. Saying people are above any criticism is also garbage.
That's fine, but you still have to coach guys in such a way as to make execution easier, and you have to make them better as they go thru the system.
They are succeeding wildly on one side of the ball, and failing wildly on the other. And its been that way for a while.
Both very skilled at losing a bunch of close games in a row, I can see this connection working well.
Going to wait to see what the offseason holds before taking a stance here. At this point in the season with 2 games left Matt is not going to make a change now nor does he need to say what his plans are in the offseason as doing any of that now is not going make any immediate impacts. Wait until the season is over and we'll see what happens. Now if we stand pat with the staff we have now and not make any kind of attempts to fix what is wrong then I will have some concerns going into next season. I'm pretty much done with Manning after watching our offense this season and also think it is time for Matt to actually hire a coach for special teams once and for all. For a coach that preaches we have to "win in the margins" we've done nothing but lose in the margins most games and the glaring issues are the offense, offensive line, and special teams most of the time. Our defense may be the best in school history this year and I can't remember a time this season where I was disappointed with their play as they have been very consistent and play with discipline so have no concerns with the coaching being done on that side of the ball.
It has been that way mainly this year, with youth in a key spot, and injuries in another. I'm confident next year will be better. With all that said, I do think the play calling could be way more creative and accomplish the same things.
There's poor execution and there's executing poorly. Big difference.

It's also combination that doesn't get you to the Big 12 Championship game most years...
I’m throwing him under the bus? I’m acknowledging he has the chance to prove us wrong. But I haven’t seen indication he’ll make the needed changes. That’s a fair criticism.
I don’t know for a fact if he will. But until he does, I have the right to be skeptic at this moment.
Yeah, the peak is passed. Nobody wants to admit that apparently besides a couple of us.
Absent an NFL QB, this current staff will be lucky to reach .500.
Their playcalling is predictable, as is their strategy: keep it close 1st half, make adjustments and take risks only if necessary in the second half. Slow it down and call a run play after a big play. Don't force turnovers, but instead bend but don't break.
Teams looked at the analytics and now have adjusted how they play ISU.
Gundy had to laugh that the game was so close that he risked injury by putting Sanders in to get the win. Saw that coming. You did too.
Anytime a coach decides to go after the fans, that is a HUGE red flag. Well, I noticed, and I will gladly continue to criticize St. Matt for looking lost during the game in his 7th year at ISU, and after he has pocketed millions.
