I haven't seen enough accuracy out of Tiller, same with Arnaud, to feel good about him starting in '11. I'm sure he has improved though. I too, like some of you, hope to find a pocket passer that is mobile and very smart, like Reesing. I think Barnett and Capello fit that mold. I think we really missed out on James VandenBerg from, Keokuk.
I don't think that Vandenberg really fits in our offense. If you have a QB that isn't very mobile, that takes the zone read option out of the offense and at least right now, that is what the offense is built around. In our offense, if you don't have a QB that is able to keep teams honest with his running ability, we're in trouble.
That said, I'd like to see the staff sign someone who is more of a passer than runner. Arnaud really struggled with accuracy last year and I haven't seen anything from Tiller to say that he's going to be an improvement. IMO Reesing would be the perfect model to try to emulate.
