Read the link! I am not talking about engineering anymore! I am not trying to say that Iowa is better at engineering, they are not. Iowa is ranked higher as a university, for however much stock you want to put into the (somewhat stupid) rankings. And ISU fans ignore that, that is my point. ISU is better in engineering.
And to address the throwing thing, I know what you are saying, TXCyclones. But I think we are both oversimplifying. Please don't think I'm just plagiarizing from what I saw on TV or something. Before moving to TE late in HS, I played a lot of QB in HS and before.
I understand your 'back foot' statement. It's true. But it's also true that to say "you want to throw off you back foot" is VERY WRONG. We all know that in every sport, back foot, pivot foot is important. Baseball swing, football throw, baseball throw etc.
Now you stand up at your computer and pretend you are taking a 5 step drop from under center. You are a right handed QB. When you plant your right foot into the ground (your 5th step), immediately throw the ball. If you truly do this, your weight will be leaning back over your right foot (back foot) because of your momentum going backwards. And you will be throwing the ball with all upper body, nothing but arm and torso. Throwing off the back foot, results in lots of interceptions, as one's arm strength is way less. From this 5th step, you twist and plant like a pitcher, bringing your left foot forward and opening up your chest square to the target. The stride is a weight transfer from back to front and in this process the ball is released. This is where the power comes from, and this physical process can be translated to many sports.
I think this is what you were saying actually. But 'back foot' doesn't cut it. Neither does 'front foot'. I didn't watch his tape of Hudl, but it sounds like you are saying his BALANCE is bad. And if it is, you should have said that.
You are correct
