Pretty bogus if that release is accurate. He has a right to be a father/fan like anyone else. Sure, that ref may have felt he was called out, but doesn't sound like Pollard met him at center court in front of everyone.

On one hand, it doesn't seem like much of a comment to get someone kicked out of a HS basketball game. On the other hand, someone of JP's stature should probably be sitting in the top row of the bleachers, far away from where the refs or anyone with a cell phone camera can hear his comments.

Crap. Now video is starting to be released. Didn't realize Colfax was in S. Carolina. I could see him getting in big trouble for this

I think we need video to judge if it was indeed a terrible call

For sure. But hearing the comment was pretty tame, that's why I think it's blown out of proportion. We've probably all been to a high school game where there is "that guy" that is VERY loud, foul, etc. Doesn't sound like Jamie was doing that....but, like any high profile person, they are always being watched.

Oh wow. This doesn't look good for JP and for Iowa State athletics. I don't see how he can keep his job after this, honestly. Even worse, he might even face charges if one of those people got seriously hurt.

Very disappointed to be a Cyclone today.

If I got kicked out of every game where I said that was a horrible call (let's be honest, I would say something worse than "horrible") I would be kicked out of every game I attend.

Here's a video. It wasn't necessarily the call that made Pollard attack police, it was just purely bad reffing:

Ref referred to him by name. Ref was looking for hollywood.

Exactly. And even if the ref wanted Jamie kicked out of the game, referring to him by name is bush league. The principal of the opposing school being quoted is probably better evidence of what happened that a ref overstepping his authority.

He was sitting in the top row. You ever been to the Colfax gym?

So did the official kick out everyone who complained about his officiating last night? This was an official with an ego and wanted to make a statement, and nothing else. Even if he knew it was Pollard, he should have never used his name.

Any parent making a spectacle at a high school game is just stupid. It only come because one cannot control their own emotion, which is never a good thing. I get it happens, but its not awesome by any stretch of the imagination.

The only reason I've gotten kicked out of high school sporting events is for showing up with a liter of hawkeye vodka in my system.

But if you've even read what the principal said, he wasn't making a spectacle at all..

I'm thinking that Jamie should handle this like Ozzie...
