I’ll probably get accused of being a Hok troll, but i’ll Say it anyway. Iowa does a very good job of evaluating prospects before they offer. Sometimes they’re slow and deliberate, and thus lose out on some good prospects because they are late to the game. Once Iowa offers, other schools are quick to offer because they know that the prospect is a quality recruit.

So the fact that ISU beat Iowa on this one says a lot about Keller.

My main point is that the fact that Iowa wanted speaks well of Keller.

The fact that Campbell wanted him speaks well of Keller. If we want a recruit I want to get him. If we beat the team out east for him great. If not, no worries. This staff has proven they can find talent others miss on (Montgomery, Rose, McDonald, etc.). I am not as worried about the offer list as I have been in the past.

The recruits we pursue are going to move up the rankings simply because when you find success other schools take notice and are going to rethink how they judge potential recruits.

THIS. We don't need Ferentz to scout talent for us for God's sake. and staff have proven their ability to identify talent to a degree that should satisfy ISU fans. IF you are an "ISU fan" who prefers the scouting of the cud-chewer and company then I submit you are not an ISU fan at all.

Disagreem Iowa has produced significantly better TE's than Texas for a long time.
It’s not the fact that Texas has produced tight end talent or not. It’s the fact that freaking blue blood Texas reached out all the way to middle of nowhere Wisconsin to offer.

Iowa offers kids from Wisconsin at the drop of a hat. And, shockingly enough, they actually have scholarship tight ends that don’t pan out.

I'm saying I trust Iowa's evaluation of a tight end more than I do Texas. Definitely agree that it's eye opening if Texas reaches all the way to Wisconsin to offer a player. You are right on about that.

Looking ahead to 2022, we'll have Dean, Hanika, Moore and Rus (strictly an F) Any input as to which of our recruits would have the best shot of playing as a true freshman?

I am going to assume you flunked out of the hok school of trolling because this attempt would embarrass even the ripest of hok trolls.

You think Iowa is unique in this? Iowa State takes its time before offering as well. They have to talk to the kid several times, establish a rapport with him, talk to his coaches and teachers, review his film, and after all that is done, they get together as a coaching staff and they all have to agree that this is a kid who fits our program before they will extend an offer. It has to be unanimous among the staff before the offer is extended. We've heard several recruits say as much. Iowa is unique, only in that they work slowly to do this. Our staff is relentless in recruiting. It takes up the majority of their work week, by far.
