I don't know what Baylor's LB situation is, but with Knott, Klein, George, etc. I'm not concerned.

We need a LOT more than just 3 LB's. What else do we have at LB? Is Adrian Bennett going to be a LB? What about CJ Morgan?

He's a Texas kid. I'm sure this is more about geography than anything else (that is the #1 factor in recruiting.) Still sucks though.

You guys do realize that baylor was in the top 25 last year and played in a bowl game and we didn't right?
That's because you're realizing the Baylor football team on the surface. I realize:

That while Baylor went bowling and we didn't, Baylor lost their bowl game by 24 points, losing 38-14 to Illinois.

In their 5 regular season losses, Baylor gave up at least 42 points in each of those games. 42, 45, 45, 53, and 55 to be exact.

Baylor's last win of the season came on October 30th at Texas. Baylor did not win in the month of November, and lost their final 4 games of the season, including their bowl game.

Baylor's season struck midnight when the chariot turned back into a pumpkin on October 31st. When looking at what I've listed, there are some similarities between the Cyclones and the Bears (last win of the season coming on October 30th, giving up a lot of points in losses,) but just because Baylor cracked the top 25 and made it to a bowl game does not mean they're in a better state than we are right now.

Remember, Iowa State has won as many bowl games in the last 2 years as Baylor has been to in the last 16 years. One.

CJ was recruited as a LB and Dentrell Pate who we've signed and placed at a CC has potential to be a transfer back to us.

LB position is solid in my mind. Not diminishing Boyds skills - but i do question his logic to the transfer.

If you look at Baylors 2010 class they have 4 LB that are faster and bigger then Boyd is and i know that dont mean everything but it does mean that he's behind those guys and will have to work his way up. So enjoy Waco and having your mom and dad watch you on special teams for 4 years....

What i'm sick of is hearing ISU fans react as if losing one recruit is the death of our recruiting class...i'd rather look at it as if he's losing out on his opportunities to come play at ISU rather then us being doom and gloom because we lose someone that nobody knows anything about....a lot of people me included me thought Sedrick was the steal of the 2008 recruiting class - wow a 4* WR we were so excited and A&M fans so ****** that we got him....nobody really was piping the abilities of Ruemph and Laing but here we are three years later and those two guys may be starters and Sedrick gone....

To me - its about who wants to buy into Rhaods motto - ALL IN.....Those are the guys we want, and those that choose to go elsewhere - good luck and see you between the white lines!!!!

You know that those guys don't have unlimited eligibility right? You need a pipeline for the future.

I'm not advocating the panic button, but if CPR doesn't start upgrading the talent in our defensive front 7 we'll have a hard time improving our defensive play. We have overachieved thus far with Wally, but I sure would like to see him coach a D with some more talent!

LTTP, but if I remember correctly, he practically begged Baylor for a schollie before he committed to us. I kind of assumed this would happen.

Looking back on it, I don't know how Boyd was a 3*? We were his only decent offer at all. Wyoming was his next best offer. And then Louisiana-Monroe or something like that?

I think Rhoads can probably go out and find another LB before signing day that would be just as good as Boyd. It's not like he was being recruited by anyone else. If Baylor had some better options, I'm sure they wouldn't have offered him either.

He was rated a 3 star, because he is a pretty good player. He will probably be a 3 year starter at Baylor. This hurts a bit. He and Miller are our only true LBs in the class. Our others are LB/S hybrids (which we need, we also need some beefy LBs though). Losing Lynn and Boyd hurts. Maybe we get someone better, maybe we don't. Maybe they turn into stars, maybe they turn into busts.

We stole Mattison from Houston (I think Houston was ranked at that time).

Shontrelle Johnson was commited to Northwestern last year then changed to us.

Boyd, Lynn, Hubert compared to Johnson, Mattison. So we are down 3-2 in decommits. Karma owes a one, right?

I really doubt you can say that he will be a 3 year starter for Baylor? Who's to say he's not a bust? Who's to say that his lack of offers actually says a lot about his playing ability? Maybe he is just a Wyoming type talent versus a Big 12 type talent?

Or he could be a sleeper. It's hard to say.

But I think Rhoads can probably find another kid with just as much potential... that's all I'm saying.

When the heck can we steal a player from another team?!?!? Were always on wrong side of these deals!

Rhoads has repeatedly said that the players they go after must honor their commitment to be a Cyclone. With that being said it makes you wonder if Rhoads tries to poach commits from other schools. Shontrelle could have been a case where he contacted the ISU staff.
