Lazard and ND Fans

I had a long discussion last night with a ND fan I know who is 100% convinced that Lazard is going to end up at ND, not ISU. His reasons:

1: It's Notre Dame, man! (Should have seen this coming)
2: Why would he choose ISU compared to ND?!?
3: A degree from ND means so much more than one from ISU. It's a 40-year choice, not a 4-year choice.
4: He should want to compete with the best, not show up and be the best.
5: Isn't his ultimate goal to get to the NFL? ND can make that happen better than ISU.
6: He's taking an official visit, and once he gets on campus and sees a game, he won't want to go anywhere else.

I have no idea what AL really wants, but for right now at least, he's saying all the right things regarding ISU. I feel pretty confident that he will come to ISU, but just wanted to share this experience.

Did you show him the score to the National Championship game where Notre Dame was overrated? How they forget where Notre Dame was prior to last year and will return there this season. Idiots. AL is ISU bound provided the wheels don't come off and ISU has a KU season. They can predict all they like, but delusion is still delusion.

I would say that last years NC game is pretty good proof that ND is far from the best.

Also wanted to add I despise Notre Dame, hate everything about that place.

Since he was talking pure nonsense you should have said "we destroyed you in basketball, that's why he's picking ISU".

Delusion is one of the strongest traits of ND fans. Nebby fans but different colors.

He is not going to ND.

His dad played here, his brother plays here, he will play here. His brother is a RS Freshman, do you really think that he is going to go to ND and make his parents miss their kids games? He is a huge ISU fan, he has grown up with ISU, he likes them the way we like them. His dad cant wait for him to go to ISU.

He came back from ND and said he wasnt impressed. What more is there to say?

I'm one of those weird middle ground people that don't hate or like ND, but they definitely were not a national title contender last year. I wouldn't have included them in my top 5 for sure, but probably in the 8-10 range even though their schedule was crap. Played a bunch of traditional power house teams that all sucked last season. Kind of a Boise St. syndrome, yeah your good and won all your games, but who'd you play?

OK, I hate ND just as much as the next guy, but I'm not sure ISU fans should be throwing out "they sucked in their bowl game last year."

Merely a point of debate strategy, I also think he stays with ISU, but c'mon, let's stay away from performance in last seasons' bowls, mkay?

Did AL like their weight room? Did he like their schedule to play BIG teams? Did he like their ACC newfound connection? Did he like Indiana corn better? Did he like the fans' hype?

The difference is, Boise state actually wins when they play a high level of competition.
