The dude that named himself after an STD isn't mad, he's perplexed that someone in his mid 30's (assuming you were born in '78) would attempt to go this route.

I seemingly falsely assumed the 'You mad bro?' shtick was exclusively for tweens.

So stating that someone is mad, is the same as saying "you mad bro?". Good to know. I'll write that one down to make sure I remember.

hope he also gets rid of the swearing during the opposing team intros at Hilton after the "5 claps". I suppose the only person that can fix that is Fred.

This University has been so lucky to have Leath and Geoffory as leaders of this institution. What Leath has done in his short time has been outstanding. He is far and away the best University president in the state of Iowa currently.

Leath is a great President when it comes to education, which is what this University is all about.

Hes awful at everything else. I agree with the Veishea decision. But he ****ed up the Bubu situation and instead of trying to fix it he kept deciding to be a **** face.

That's like being McDonalds employee of the month, but yes.

Leath is an excellent CEO for ISU. That said, that's exactly what he is, a mercenary CEO. He owes nothing to the culture, traditions, or people of the institution and cares nothing about them except when they impact the metrics on which he is judged. President Geoffrey was an excellent University President. He did respect the culture, traditions, and people and struggled to keep them balanced with the harder requirements of the job.

Leath has and will continue to do a good job of handling the business realities of ISU but his willingness, even desire, to duck things like fixing VEISHEA indicate that he isn't interested in the whole job.

Do you think that Leath is blind to the fact that there have been 100,000 attempts to fix VEISHEA and none have worked? It's too bad many are treating him as a scapegoat. Leaving things be so that more problems arise in the future and more riots would be a sign that he doesn't care.

CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP! "You SUCK!" Swearing?

Whatever it is- it is the destruction of yet another ISU tradition for no good reason. The five claps goes back generations and thousands of ISU students went through w/o the need to bastardize it and degrade someone as it is done now.

(cue the small army about to say it is college, no big deal, who cares, too sensitive, we want a fierce homecourt, don't bring kids etc...)

Now, get off of my lawn..... (and I am not even old yet:smile:)

There's never been any attempt to fix the underlying problems. Only bandages and half-measures, largely because the University is expected to fix messes that are, inadvertently, caused by the City of Ames.

I really don't know much about Leath and what he has "accomplished" at the university. The enrollment has grown but that most likely has to do with other trends. He comes across a little bit like a smart but arrogant NC academic type that many of the ACC schools don't like.

He still has to be far far better than our president before Geoffrey (almost all think he was a very good president and responsible for many of the good things still going at ISU). However, I seem to remember a small "riot" walking around and yelling unkind things at the previous guy J**&^%. It could always be worse.
