Total ***** move by CPR. Couldn't get on the same page? That's probably because he didn't want his offense to suck.

Mr. Mangino, thank you for your efforts. I'm sorry you were fired by someone who is your complete and utter inferior.

I think this shows just the opposite. Rhoads has always been a run first guy with a "use the pass to open the run" philosophy. What if Sturdy was calling the plays in the second half against Baylor? Still think this was a bad move?

In the presser Rhoads stated MM has called all the plays this year.

Why not go full Kardashian and fire him on the sidelines?

You run a shotgun from the one and I'm slapping that play sheet from your hand!

Put me in the group that believes this was Mangino's decision not Paul's.

What does this really mean???? I know CPR is know for coach speak but I think there is way more to this one.....

'We tried to talk that through again this morning in an effort to get us moving in a different direction. In the end, Mark was not interested in that. I wish that wasn’t the case.'

Just a guess.

Rhoads and Mangino met. Rhoads said 'well, **** Mark we have to start Lanning. We have to run the ball.'

Mark said either a) Paul you are an idiot, I've been telling you this for weeks or b)Paul you are an idiot, I love Sam. I promised Sam he could start and it is Wally's terrible defense as to why we lost.

Paul said 'I don't care. Lanning has to start. I'm the boss, you are not.'

Mark said 'Fine I quit.'

Paul said 'Don't be too much of a **** on the way out and I'll talk up your kid as being above it all and he can get a job.'

I will actually be even more ****** off if we finish 5-7 rather than 4-8 or worse cause that Toledo nightmare will haunt and we totally dominated that team in every way accept the final score. It would not surprise me though if we win 3 more games.

Mangino has been calling plays for the last 2 years with arguably the most talented offense we have ever had. At what point did you ever think Mangino was doing a good job?

Certainly not a Rhoads apologist here, but I've heard rumors within the program that some of the personal issues have come about because of MM's percieved lack of professionalism. Like Mangino showing up 45 mins. late on gameday to the coaches meetings. Story goes that Rhoads laid into him in front of everyone and Mangino came back at CPR with a shot at his record. May not be all true but take all that fwiw. What I have heard that is more than just hearsay is that Mangino is the one who wanted to keep Richardson in the last few weeks, which is what many others have been saying. Paul has said since MM got here that he would have complete control of the offense, and Mangino wants to run a spread attack using short quick passes. Sturdy and Rhoads realize that the only thing this offense does well is run the ball, and Lanning makes them more productive doing that. I was surprised to hear that Rhoads supposedly wants a run heavy attack with more throws downfield, which surprises me since we haven't really seen that under him. Either way, I think it's also a sign that CPR AND Mangino both know that they'll both be out of a job by year's end without a major change, and one or both decided that it would happen their way or the highway. So if Rhoads gets fired, he's going to go out playing his QB, and running an offense he thinks is better this year, or Mangino decided if this guy is gonna meddle in my system then I'm gonna leave since I'll be gone at the end of the year anyway.

I could see this happening. Let's not forget...these are all competitive men....and it wasn't long ago MM was the big cheese. Not saying the above is true or false, but I could certainly see how there could be some "tension" present...heck, going from National Coach of the Year to assistant has to be tough on the ego...especially when it's pretty well known MM didn't get a fair shake at KU and may still be upset at it all.

From what I've heard, it is true that Tommy is the opposite of MM.

That and this is his way of making sure Mangino doesn't get the nod to be the next head coach!

And what has Mangino done to show that he should be the next coach? He hasn't been good. Now is that his fault or Paul's fault, I have no idea. But I'd rather give Wally the head coaching job.

If they go 3-2, he should be back. I see a very low probability of that happening but who knows. Team seemed to come to life after Lanning came in. Time will tell.

If we go 3-2 the rest of the way (very unlikely IMO), then I'm guessing Rhoads will come back next year. I wouldn't be screaming mad if that happened as we would have been a routine FG away (Toledo) from being bowl eligible.

But 3-2 is my absolute threshold for Rhoads returning next year.

He was hamstrung by a coach who tried to micro-manage him. I will never believe for a minute that Mark Mangino is not a superior coach to CPR in every way.

Have their been any comments from Mangino? I'm surprised Randy P. etc have not found a way to get him to say something

Lanning interview (didn't see video, SIAP):

Not a whole lot of new info.

I think the CF board cares a lot more than the players will about order of info.

Hopefully they give them a straight up and more detailed explanation in meetings...then they'll feel like they are fully informed and ready to move on together. If coaches esp CPR are vague, then seems like better change for problems with team morale.

Combine that with many people saying he was lazy, disinterested, and difficult to deal with. It clearly wasn't working out so Rhoads might as well try someone else to try and save his job.

I think Rhoads ate the last rib post game in Waco and Mangino took offense to that.... It stewed for the weekend and came back up this morning. That was my rib Paul, you took it from me, well I quit....

Someone did say that B12 defenses are smaller and built for speed to defend passing routes. So we become Beast of the Midwest and just run the H out of Joel, Thomas, Brown, and Warren. Do some Trevor handoffs. Just pound the rock until the defense begs us to pass. Better than losing 71-7.

Most talent ever??? Why do people keep saying this? Its just not true ... either by the stars or by what we see on the field.
