I think Warren may end up being the most talented player in the class...along with Lazard. That's two very talented kids we'll have for the next 4 years....keep beefing up that OL and lock in the QB, and Mangino is really going to look like the genius he is.

I'm glad to have Warren, I think we traded up from Mister. I'm not trash talking Mister, but I feel like he did us a favor to make room for Warren who seems to be a higher quality back and probably would have had a better offer list had he qualified earlier.

4* per 247 high 3* per scout.

Rivals lists him as a 2 star. Interesting how different they are. Im not sure I've ever seen a 2 star difference in a player. 247 also reports him having an offer from Texas. Does this make him the only player on our roster to have had an offer from Texas?

Just watched Warren's highlights from Senior year. Good size, GREAT speed, and huge strides! Can't wait to see him in a Cyclone uniform.

FWIW I've heard Standard may take on a role similar to that of Woodys. A reliable, big, straight ahead, short yardage RB

I've heard this over and over. Standard is not the same type of back as Woody (not nearly as big). Besides, Woody was never utilized on many goal line situations like he should have been. See Texas, 4th Qtr, Ball on Texas 8 yard line. Standard may be our bigger back but I would not classify him as a FB/Goal line type of guy. We don't have another Jeff Woody body type unless he is a walk on?

Not mad at the person who posted this, but still mad at Mess for not putting Woody, and the Texas game away, when we could have.

The idea that he is a Woody type back I think stems from something said by either CPR or an assistant coach in the past. Also, I remember a clip on cyclones.tv during fall camp where the backs were in a traditional I-formation with Woody as the tailback and Standard as the fullback. (Obviously, we never used that formation)

I don't necessarily think he's a Woody type guy either, but the staff seems to think so.

I'd be in favor of putting Levi Peters in on short yardage formations. I think he could do some damage as a lead blocker.

after watching his senior tape, I think this is the best RB recruit we have got in a long time. he has enough frame to be a 200lb+ back, he has great vision and tremendous speed. we have really never had this kind of speed and size in one package at RB before. We may have gotten really lucky here with this kid.
