Just for comparison's sake, Art Briles won 4 games each of his first two seasons coaching Baylor. I don't want to get into a debate about Briles' character here, but we need to have some perspective and give a coach some time to build a program. Didn't Ferenz win like 2 games his first season as Iowa's head coach? It is hard to watch right now, but all the signs point to a brighter future.

The hardest part will be getting recruit buy in...especially after what will most likely be a poor showing this year on the field.

We need 2-3 years of over achievement on the recruiting front before it really starts showing on Saturdays IMHO.

But that's ALWAYS been the battle at Iowa State. Finding players who want to brace the cold and play in a conference dominated by warm weather programs with more money, more history, and more talent in their back yards. Now that everyone is on TV I think it actually makes it harder in some ways as you don't need to play OU & UT to be on national TV.

Props to ISU fans for continuing to show up year in and year out.
