I love to hear fans talk like they know how money motivated CPR is. The bottom line is that we have no clue how much money he wants or needs to make in order to accomplish his life/family goals.

I am disappointed at this point with Rhoads no matter what happens. A firm "not interested" should come from someone who is all in. Good luck to him preaching the all in to players and fans when even he is sniffing around.

I'm sure he's devastated.

He's earned the opportunity to at least listen. It absolutely sucks that we may lose him but this is a great fundraising opportunity for Iowa State. Maybe that is why CPR or Jamie have not mentioned anything. They are both pretty smart people.

You want to keep Paul Rhoads? Open your checkbooks.

Yeah, nobody with such divided loyalties should even be allowed to live. The only thing worse would be if CPR admitted that he was a fan of both UNI and ISU or something crazy like that...

The irony here is almost too much to handle

How so? I'm being realistic. This board is FILLED with people who think CPR would blindly stay here no matter what. This just isn't reality. He's the lowest paid coach in the big 12. That needs to change ASAP. GET REAL.

Quality of life in Iowa >>>>>> Quality of life in Pittsburgh

Laughing at anyone that thinks there are legs here.

Seriously....screw your head on straight and stop with the woe is me attitude.

No offense, but your track record of predicitions is beyond terrible. Most of the time whatever you predict, the opposite ends up happening.

Ya anyone that thinks it will not be a mass exodus is kidding themselves. I hope Rhoads could live with himself giving this program a death blow.

Dude, step back from the ledge. I don't think he leaves and if he does I will be disappointed but you can't kill the guy for doing what he thinks is best for his family. As long as he is upfront and honest about it, what more can you reasonably ask?

A weirdo? I just have a ton of respect for Rhoads and what he has done. Sorry you think that is sad to admit.

Haven't we done that? For 5 years, we've been asked to "buy-in"...give, give, give.

Well fans stepped up. Record season ticket sales, record attendace (by far!). We have done our part. Now its time for the AD to lock up a coach that created all of this buzz.

We've done our job. Now its the AD's turn to do his.

I would support this line of thinking...

And we need to continue to step up and give more if we want to keep him.

We did a great job this year and I hope we do a better job next year, and the year after that, and the year after that......

Jamie Pollard will do everything in his power to keep Paul Rhoads at Iowa State for a long time. At the end of the day, money will always talk, and we need to keep on giving.

How much is it worth to have your dad drive 20 miles to come to practice and have him and your best friends from high school on the sidelines? I'm not worried-but we do need to give him the resources to compete, including more $ for him and his staff

ding ding ding!

I would hold no grudges if Coach Rhoads leaves for a head coaching position that pays more where he has a realistic chance of winning a championship. However, I don't see Pitt as that type of opportunity. A move there would be disappointing.

I don't think CPR is leaving for Pitt right now but if he interviews, my dream of having him spend the rest of his career here is completely gone. It won't happen. If he will talk to a struggling program with little support at this point, he will leave for someone else when/if he achieves the success we think he will achieve here. It almost feels a little like the WVU situation with RR. He talked to Bama, turned them down, then left the following year.

I think his fav part is being able to have beers with friends and family after a big win and the abality to ride his Harley with them.

This entire thread = Much Ado About Nothing.

Rhoads isn't leaving, he will get a big pay raise very soon, get used to his name being mentioned as he continues to build up the Clones. Its a good problem to have...and we have the right coach in place to weather any "tempting" offers. Hakuna Matata.
