I have a question. Is the winner of this poll officially no longer "under-appreciated?"

I am going to say Curtis Stinson.

Dude was an absolute warrior for ISU. But he was routinely ripped up and down on the message boards for his perceived selfish play. Guy just wanted the rock in his hand when a big play was needed. I can respect that.

Shame he and Blalock weren't smart enough to return for their senior year. Don't know if they got bad advice, had a family/money situation, etc; but would have liked to have seen him get a better opportunity to succeed.

Anyone hated by KU fans like Tinsley and Stinson is OK in my book.

I don't think anyone who rips him for selfish play is unaware of how much he affected the games he played in. He and Blalock were the two best players Morgan had for two years.

Tyray Pearson was a really good ball player. His name is NEVER mentioned on this board. We hear about all the other guys on that list quite often.

I would take his 19 and 8 anytime.

That might be the best answer.

Back to MBB ... I say Jared Homan. It took him almost 2.5 years to get rolling, but he may have been the key missing ingredient that made '06 worse than '05.

Some have mentioned Rancik and Stinson. Rancik is a good under-appreciated candidate because he got lost in the mix but was a great role player. Stinson was too prominent on those teams to be in the underrated status.

That's exactly the point. I remember tirelessly defending him all the way on the message boards through his career. Guy gave his all, game in and game out. Had Cyclone logos all over his Cyclone Myspace page (big deal, I know!). Still attends Cyclone games, came back for the 100th anniverstary gay but people still feel like he was all about himself. He was a true blue Cyclone, and I really wish he would have stuck it out one more year. But with a cute little boy on the way at the time, it was hard to blame him. Though, many still did...
