This team is better than I thought. I know we beat UNI (and should have) and beat a horrible Kansas team. But....
1. We are putting up some points this year.
2. We are doing some different stuff on offense, like formations and misdirection stuff.
3. Our defense is way better than we were last year.
I know we lost 2 games that we didnt want to lose, but the Hawks are tough this year and Toledo is better than first thought.
Just think how young and inexperienced we still are, we will only getting better and I expect us to knock a few off. I think we will be pretty darn good next year.
I think we harmfully measure success in wins, but this team has gotten a ton better from last year and from week 1. We are Iowa State guys, not Alabama!! we can't expect awesome years every year. Baby steps, baby steps. We ARE improved!!!

Compared to Big 10 schools, yes we are putting up points. Compared to what we will face, we are not.

I would agree with all but the scoring points. That has been really bad outside of KU, a historically awful team.

Can't get past the quoted

That is how success is measured in every sport at every level past middle school

While I understand your point, if that were the case why on earth would people bother keeping individual and team statistics beyond score?

I can't get back on the hype train until we win some games we aren't supposed to. We win at Tech as 11.5 point underdogs? then yeah, the ****** can be re-written. Unfortunately, I just see us losing by a touchdown with about 3-4 chances that could have won it for us.

This is the most pathetic post ever in the history of Cyclone Fanatic.

Reality is going to set back in for some when we travel to Lubbock this weekend.

Here nor there
This is even better than what was on here after the UNI game.

It's all about wins, but even at that, the scoreboard is more kind than our quality of play. We played competently in about 5 or 6 of the total 16 quarters thus far. Thankfully UNI and KU are not good and scholarship limited.

My Mommy and Daddy have told me I am perfect my entire life....I have videos and selfies to prove it. I am great! Everything I do is great and I have never failed. Oh, the places I will go!!!* (as long as my trust fund pays for it and I can stay on mommy and daddy's health insurance until I am 26).

If this was year 2 or year 3 of the Rhoads era I'd agree. But seven years in, the only reasonable way to measure success is by wins. And I hope they get a bunch more. Maybe they will; I'll keep an open mind. But if they limp to another 2 or 3 win season and Pollard doesn't make a change, then it's a giant middle finger to the the fan base.
