So a 3-9 season right after going to two straight bowl games and being ranked in the Top 25 the season before last year makes us a bottom feeder? By that logic, Florida is a bottom feeder due to what happened last season..

Ok, I'm back. Mom put some little pork sausages from Iowa in the mac n cheese and it was delicious.

Thank you, jc, for making me do a little research on the ISU footballl program. If your definition of a bottom feeder is finishing dead last yr in and yr out, you are correct. Kansas seems to like that honor. My definition is one that is habitually fighting to stay out of the bottom three. ISU seems to be blessed in that regard.

If your high water mark in the last few years is an appearance and loss in a bowl that I didn't even know existed (Pinstripe Bowl) until this thread, than you are correct, ISU is not a bottom feeder.

If you have had more 4 game win streaks (1) , than 4 game losing streaks, in the last eight years, than you are not a bottom feeder.

After looking at your entire football history, I may come to watch the fan base more than the game. There must be a picture of an ISU fan by the definition of resilient. I kind of have an image in the back of my mind of a Donner Pass victim (hungry for a win) with a sprinkle of Bataan death march (we really know how this ends) look mixed in.

At least at NDSU, we can enjoy the expection and anticipation of a win at each game, even if it is at the JV level.

Can we agree that NDSU will not be your easiest game? I think Kansas and Toledo are the early favorites for that.

Yeah you go ahead and wet your pants in anticipation of seeing "heavyweights" such as Youngstown State/Indiana State/Missouri State. I guess I will just have to settle for buying tickets to see Oklahoma, Baylor and Kansas State...

Kansas on the road and a trap game against Toledo sandwiched between roadies at Oklahoma State and Texas are both tougher than NDSU. I know I know... Texas isn't exactly South Dakota State but I guess they will have to do.

No. NDSU is still the easiest game on the schedule. Any lower division team is always going to be the easiest game on the schedule. If it wasn't, they'd be playing in the big boy subdivision.

Did you hear that guys they beat Youngstown state. I bet a high school team could beat half of the teams you guys play.

And the other half could throttle ISU.

Mom says I have to go to bed now. I get to have the rest of the pork sausage for breakfast. You guys sure don't know how to play football, but you sure can make sausage.

From an outsider iowa state has always been an after thought, few years back interest was piqued with the 2 bowls and heck I did play by play on here for your big Nebraska win. But your overall record and history isn't the best. Sorry Minnesota where I'm from has been as bad as iowa state but they actually won natl titles in 60 ' s and past
If we win against you, will you consider us to be the new champs?

Bisoncardinal is from ndsu not a cockeye fan so at least you guys can give him credit for that.

NDSU is head and shoulders above Toledo and Kansas. It'll be a great entertaining game. I see the espn big 12 blog guy thinks it'll be 35-31 ISU he has zero clue how good ndsu's defense will be. Poor guy.

What's gonna be said when ISU wins 31-10? Will you still bring up the past?

Silly question...they'll be gone, never to be heard from again, off to haunt the KSU forums and whoever they have coming up. They'll never be back here until, god forbid, we schedule them again (unless it's already scheduled...unlike Lakes, I don't spend time memorizing our OOC schedule, because for ISU, it's the preseason...for NDSU, it's their only hope for actual relevancy).

Seriously, jc, you are proud of a Top 25 ranking in 2012? The only way that could have happened in a 6-7 season, is to have been ranked after a rare and elusive 3 game win streak to start the season, correct? Then you flamed out like bottom feeders do. But hey, at least you didn't finish last.
