Different strokes for different folks. The Sweet Caroline tradition played when the crowd is juiced, is a “downer”….I’ve heard more exciting traditional funeral dirges.
BTW, my son from out of state Big City brought his family to the game. The granddaughter has been accepted at ISU, among others, and she was getting the full Cyclone experience exposure. The DIL & g daughter loved the Trice atmosphere and the highlight was the Juicy Wiggle! So you never know what will trip someone’s trigger.
This was the one time that Juicy Wiggle made me nervous. I usually love it. We were down by a point still...I was afraid it would jinx the team! Yes. I'm that superstitious!
OTOH - I was really happy to see how few people left early...and the student section remained packed until the end. The people on one side of us and the people in front of us left just after last UCF score, and we had a good laugh at their expense after the game, thinking of them in their cars just listening to that amazing finish.
Yes, it's a really stupid song (especially with that video). However, the beat is strong and peppy and it gets people moving. Don't overthink it!
