The fact that football sucked during Criner shouldn't be a knock on the best logo we've attempted because the sucking was not unique to Criner's era.
Good memories for basketball under that logo should carry some weight.

Perhaps the one in my sig? Basically the same logo minus the Iowa State script.
Should we be concerned that next years uniforms are going to have the MAC look rather than the Power 5 look?
Does anyone have any feelings about featuring our state in our logos or on a helmet? I came up with this idea:

You could of course flip the gold & red.
I can't say that I'm a fan of the state on the helmet.
Anything we can do with branding ISU and the state of Iowa is a good thing.
What about on the field @ Jack Trice or on the floor of Hilton?
Not sure if they do it already or not but that would be good for the back of the helmet like they do the helmet stickers. Just one small one in the bottom right corner with the player's number on it.Does anyone have any feelings about featuring our state in our logos or on a helmet? I came up with this idea:

Not official, but potential uniform for Saturday's game. No helmet stripe, which is unfortunate.

Agreed that the lack of helmet stripe is unfortunate.
I miss the helmet stripe matching up with the shoulder stripes, too.
I would have figured gold pants -- enough dark red in Norman as it is.
But this is alright, I guess. Not our best, not our worst.
I prefer having helmet stripes, too. I'd like to have regular striping option in addition to the tapered.
I think this combo is sharp, but also agree with you, cardinal pants vs. opponent w/ red-family primary doesn't stand out as much as gold would. Going W-W-C isn't too bad, though, OU is likely to have its trad Crimson-Crimson-Cream, so there's contrast.
