Remember when players weren't so focused on image and had highlights voiced by god?
I long for that simple time
We should just go back to the '76-77 era gold. Those were arguably our best unis!
Do you guys think we should to revert back to a less yellow shade of gold, if we could? If so, maybe this is the time to do it, if we ever do. We have a new coach, and an improving program, one looking for an identity.
It is clear to me that a large number, possibly a majority of fans favor a less harsh gold? We are not using our gold pants (as of yet), no gold helmet (as of yet), hear way too often 'Ronald McDonald', and 'ketchup and mustard', other derogatory comments. Pretty obvious the current "gold" of our cardinal and gold isn't working?
We can make better choices. This includes alt logos, and our Team colors going forward. I was a fan of the current gold at times, but realize it is too strong most of the time, and we could have something better. I don't know if we will.
@amestoplease had it right, and largely had the colors right too. I am sure he and people like
@Kagavi are quite frustrated then and now. I am as well. But what can we do about having them listen to us? It's been tried before. I trust designers like him and Kagavi more than the designers currently being used, or past ones. Sure would be nice if they could throw out 'feelers' and be more open to fan suggestions, before commiting to certain logo or uniform changes. I can understand why they do not, though do not always agree to their methodology. We can only hope that uniform changes next year will be widely accepted. After seeing recent alt cyclone, one wonders?
I'll use one of amestoplease past designs to illustrate what our cardinal and gold could look like (in addition to the above). And please, I've heard comments like, "don't like the 49er's" or "Boston College" look. We don't have to and won't look like them. We will look like the Cyclones, regardless of what color gold we choose. Do we want to continue w/ our current gold comments forever though, and more often than not feel like the current gold is just a little too strong/yellow? And we have a history of gold shade variations (Stapleton era, 1976 era come to mind). Are we stuck w/ the current gold forever?
