Paul Rhoads will be the coach next season if Jamie doesn't lose his job first, I honestly don't see Rhoads getting let go. The problem is we will again be looking for a new OC with Mangino signing 2 year deal which ends after this season.

I have a gut feeling that you're right, Rhoads will be back next year.

I just don't see JP having the guts to fire Rhoads at all. Especially with the buyout involved. Every other one of my fellow Cyclone friends of mine also believes he will be back next year mostly because we can't afford to buy him out and also pay someone else.

I hate to admit it but I had the same feeling as all of you. I have always thought CPR would be back next....especially watching the way he is coaching. He definitely looks like a guy who is comfortable in his position.
But after watching last yesterday's game, I believe there will be no choice but to find someone new. We are looking at three more (at least) total blow outs. If this happens, I believe there will be a lot of pressure coming from donors to make a change. Let's face it....money talks!

this is guy just wins and he runs an option offense that no one has seen before. It would be something different.

ISU needs someone that is proven to be able to develop talent. We know top notch recruiting will not happen here so development, not recruiting is the lifeblood to a school like ISU.

Need to run a different type offense then the rest of the league. They all see it in practice each week and then also against almost every team they play against.

Feel free to add your own ideas, (absolutely No bashing CPR...) after all, this is a fan discussion board. CPR won't hold on to the job forever, nor will the coach after him, etc...

Have a read... (I like him) and I know him. And someday he's going to be very successful.

This has NU written all over it..... Riley is probably on his way out too....

2.5 million would still be 2nd worst in the conference. So that is pretty much the bottom end of what we'll have to pay to find a new decent head coach.

Which brings in a whole new discussion.... do we even have an AD that is willing to spend that? What are we saving per year right now with Prohm as our MBB coach instead of Hoiberg? Isn't it close to a million per year less?

Looks like all that $$$ float is going to the SEZ which will be somewhat empty this next weekend.

Let's define blowout as a loss of more than three touchdowns.

My new Top 5 that I think are realistic.

1. Bo Pelini (Youngstown State HC. Knows how to win in the Big 12, able to recruit. He and Pollard are identical twins)

2. Calvin Magee (Arizona OC. Players love him. Brings an explosive offense in a conference that isn't known for offense. At 52, if he wants to become a HC, nows the time.)

3. Justin Feunte (Memphis HC. Young. Players love him. Knows how to win.)

4. Doug Meachum (TCU OC. Honestly unsure how he would actually fit in with the culture here, but he knows how to score, and scoring is good.)

5. Matt Campbell (Young. Proven winner. Most successful Toledo coaches fair well after Toledo. Most.)

1. Bo Pelini (Youngstown State HC. Knows how to win in the Big 12, able to recruit. He and Pollard both have explosive personalities which, if Leath is involved, would hurt Pelini's chances)

This is a good list, Meachum I believe was at OSU with Gundy prior to TCU, I think Cambell would be a good hire and would probably keep Ayeni and the RB stable that we seem to be building with Thomas and Warren.
