that is great news, it will give us two kids from that Tilton powerhouse team. And for those wondering yes we are recruiting both Nerlehns Noel and Wayne Seldon from that team also. Noel will be a junior next year and Seldon a soph, both will be top10 players in their class. They will likely be a long shot for us, but if we can win some games the next two years we may have a chance.

Niang seems like a good pickup for us, he's not ranked as a top100 kid but he sure puts up the stats against big time competition.

It seems like he's really blown up between when the last rankings came out and now. I'm sure he'll be given at least 3 stars the next time they redo the rankings.

Wonder if this takes us out of the running with Percy Gibson.

Edit: Not to be a downer. Very happy that Niang committed, but would like to see Gibson commit as well.
Yes I think we all do, but this is a great pick up for the class of 2012. This has absolutely nothing to do with getting Percy Gibson.

It sounds like Niang may end up as a 3, maybe even a 2 while Gibson seems like an inside player only.

From what I read it said he was a good 3 point shooter and could end up a 2,3, or 4. It may be bad info, but it was on one of the links in this post.

UPDATE: Just spoke with George. He is pumped up and in. Sounded very solid to ISU. Credited relationship with Hoiberg as key. It was a fun interview. I'll have a complete story up on Monday. Again, have that family stuff tonight that I am already late to. Plus, it is my 1 year anniversary with my wife! I am officially in the dog house.

Maybe more of a inside - outside 4... From the scouting reports I have heard. Used to just be real handy around the basket, but heard that he has recently improved his handle and outside shot.
