Yeah! And in the jansas bball game, the blarge call against niang was only one play! If they made 1 more stop we would have won!!

I don't understand people's refusal ro admit officials bad calls can make a difference in a game.
This is why visit this site the day after a loss is frustrating. People have to blame someone else for the loss. It couldn’t be the players or the play calls from the staff. Nope.. it has to be officials

No - I understand. The refs made a mistake on this play. Ok. Let’s all whine and complain. It’s not why they lost, but we can all complain about it.

I really don’t think you know what mutually exclusive means.

Officiating errors and Iowa State’s own errors contributed to the loss beyond any reasonable doubt. It’s not even a question.

It’s not an either/or. It’s a both. No question. Nobody is saying “exclusively officiating blunders”. That blown call definitely had an impact. Somewhere between ISU’s pat % times 3 and 7 points times ISU’s turnover % if you want to get specific. The chances of zero points there are probably around 5%.

The mistakes you’re bringing up happened too. They’re both real and you’re setting up an idiotic fantasy where people have to ignore half of reality. Stop.

Who said ISU would had scored a TD? You don’t know for sure. What I do know is ISU had two miscues that the refs had no part of that DIRECTLY LED TO 14 POINTS FOR KANSAS. Iowa state lost by 7. Do the math
The guy arguing isu probably wouldn't have scored a td from the 2 yard line isn the guy losing an argument.

Do you really think the game ia the same if the score is 14-10 at half instead of 14-3? I don't know what to tell you then ...
Do you really think the game is the same if they don’t give up the pick 6? Or actually play well in the first half? They were horrendous on offense for most of the first half.

Great. It’s about 95% ISU and 5% officials. But hey… let’s focus on the 5%

You misread my comment. It CAN be the officials. They played a big part in a one score game. It's OK to say that. The officials huddled every penalty, which takes away home team momentum, made consistent bad calls, including at least one big game changing call.

I don't always blame officials... but here it's warranted

For your numbers to be right a fg would need to be worth .5 points and a td would need to be worth 2.5 points…that’s just on Noel’s return to the three without considering other officiating. Numbers exist bro.
Yep. There were 114 or so plays. Officials poor play played a role in about 5% of those plays. Numbers do exist

It’s hard to beat a good football team and the officials, especially when you don’t play your best game. No one here is saying the officiating is the definitive reason Iowa State lost, but it surely did not help anything. If they make the right call on the kick return the game probably looks different. Despite that, Iowa State didn’t really do enough to win the game. It can be true that the refs were bad and Iowa State was too.

Yes. That’s what great teams do. I bet you there is a questionable call that goes against every team in every game. Some are worse than others, some may be more impactful than others. But great teams don’t let the call determine the outcome. They take matters in their own hands

How many plays were there last night? Not including special teams, I count 114. Of those plays, how many had questionable cals against ISU? Probably 5 -7. Which means the officials didn’t negatively affect Iowa State for 107-109 plays last night.

Here are two plays of why Iowa State lost: they gave up a 4th down conversion on the opening drive which lead to a touchdown. They threw a pick 6. There is 14 points that ISU gave up which the officials had nothing to do about.
Did I say that the officials were the only problem. No. What I said was that was an obvious **** up that caused us to likely lose 7 points at that point in the game. Let us have the points and see how everything turns out after that.

The one thing that you are forgetting is every decision made after pulling within 7 at that stage in the game changes. When Kansas REALLY had to make a play they may have had a case of the jitters and not caught it because of the pressure. It's like when you're up by 15 with 10 minutes to go in the game and you take a 3 pointer. Nothing is going through your head like " we HAVE to have this bucket, so you just do everything in a relaxed manner and voila, frontrunning wins again.

Hell , we could have scored there, let up on defense and lost 87 -7. I guess I just would have liked to have the option to know how it would play out without a VERY agregious call made against us.

You don't have to be perfect to win a game. You can get lucky, the other team can slip up and toss the ball to your guy and you run it in for a TD.

But what should never happen is an official calling a play dead when it is questionable, can be reviewed and is basically never blown dead in that case in any other circumstance. That is getting screwed to the Nth degree.

And the officals didn’t play as large of role in the loss as people here want to think it did

Stupid opinion.

When any play is made, you could say this. Officials cannot take away the results of a great play.

What should have happened on the incredible catch last night for Kansas where their guy caught it in his back in double coverage was.... incomplete due to catching on back. That's as justified as calling Noel out when he wasn't.

When you make a play, you should enjoy the rewards of making the play. That includes the higher probability of scoring from the 2 than the 31.

I'm sorry, but blaming anyone but the refs for us not scoring there is ********.
For those of you dumbing this, please explain what you find dumb. Hiding behind some stupid emoji is weak.

Use your words.
