What kind of black mail does Greg have on Jamie, because his continued employment at ISU has nothing to do with results.

It is almost to the point where nothing else makes sense! I had heard some rumors that a couple of the big donors had come forward to help with the buyout, but obviously that never panned out. So if KG is saying that money isn't the issue, that could very well mean that those rumors had some truth to them. So what is left? The results on the floor suck, player retention sucks, the results next year look to reach a whole new level of suck. Two conclussions that I can see: 1, Greg has some dirt on JP or 2, JP just doesn't feel like there is a good candidate out there right now that we could get.

I hope and pray that it is number 2, at least then there is hope that we will make a move next year. If it is number 1, we can look forward to losing bball until Greg decides it is time to leave.

This has to be one of the biggest jokes of a college basketball program in a four year period in history. Were not on probation, we haven't recieved the death penalty, players aren't shooting each other, were not under investigation. I cannot believe it is even possible for a person to drive a program into the ground as bad as GMAC has. I don't think a coach could do this bad if they tried.

Will people boo McDermott at the summer Tailgate Tour outings across the state? Doubting there will be much comedy in his act this year!

Makes one wonder, doesn't it?

If things are looking as bad as I think they will, and if they offer liquor at the Des Moines tailgate event, watch out. Things could get interesting.

I may just go and pass out drink tickets to those in the crowd looking rowdy. I love throwing gas on a fire!

Plus maybe, just maybe, JP doesn't really know how the majority of passionate ISU fans feel about the issue. I guarantee he will after the summer.

Would you rather say.. oh thats okay we played really well, and we'll get em next year.
Were you ****** at the end of the season?

Actually nothing...I just sit back and laugh most days. I decided to engage today, no idea why.

Remember less than six months ago when we actually thought we had a chance with the number one high school recruit in the nation? How laughable does that seem now? People can't jump off this shipwreck fast enough...

#3; JP's ego....I'm sure some are getting tired of me writing about it, and I myself am getting tired of writing about it, but I do think Jeremy hit the nail on the head in another thread a few days ago about JP not being able to admit his own mistakes in regards to men's basketball and doesn't want to admit he's wrong.

I have also heard secondhand from reliable sources that JP is an egomaniac and as a result is very, very hard to work for unless you are in the "inner circle". Again, secondhand information, but when Jeremy, who should know as much as anyone, basically says the same thing, I think there is something to it.

Nothing wrong with having an ego necessarily, I have one professionally myself, but when it gets in the way of doing your job well, it's time to get it deflated.

So good to hear that you are able to laugh at the misery and frustration of the ISU fan base......but then honestly......I really wouldn't expect anything more from someone who has more concern for an individual coach than he does for the program as a whole. Real class.

I think the posts toward kg are far to personal. He has a different opinion than most. Big deal.

Everyone jokes about it now but do you guys realize how bad we are going to be next year? Its going to be freaking comedy out on the court. If we thought Iowa had a ****** year this year wait till Iowa state next year. We honestly wont win 6 games next year. We will get beat by an average of 25-30 points in conference play and will not win ONE conference game.

I'll take the over on both of those game counts. How much we betting?

Might be the most anti-climactic announcement ever. We've known this was coming for a week... then we get a 2 line statement just saying 'he gone'.

That said, gotta wonder who's next....

Most people saw this coming after GMAC went crazy on him to the media after the Duke game. Bad PR for the program and quite frankly shows a lack of class as well on GMAC's part.
