What was the deal with those short kickoffs that resulted in long returns? The kicker has the leg to knock to the endzone.

Did you all catch CMC interview w/ ABC on the field? Awesome that he stated:, "we could have played a lot better" !

Man, has our culture / expectations changed; Go 'Clones!
With Sweet Caroline in the background? I caught that sweet refrain just as the broadcast cut off.

I am not sure he does have that strong of a leg. He has gotten it to the endzone a couple times, but only with the wind at his back. Kicking it into the endzone is by far the best play on a kickoff. I realize that ISU has caught people at the 10-15 a few times, but I would gladly just let the other team start at the 25, than have someone get loose.

That being said, the OU guy could kick it a mile, but Kene brought it almost all the way back. I liked that they let him run kicks back in the last 2 games. He can really make things happen if he gets a seam.

Yep. And I’m disappointed that I haven’t gotten more of a reaction about this . I essentially saw the beginnings of a porn video staring two people who were old enough to know better and including the women’s mother sitting right next to them.
So...just how crowded was your living room?!!

You want a reaction? Okay...

I believe the Japanese call that an "oyakodon".

I know kick returns and punt returns are drastically different, but after Kene has been proving himself the past few games, what are the odds he goes back there on punts a few times and gets the chance to return one?

I’d be happy with Tarique back to full health.

And I’ll note that after next week’s game, we have a bye week to help with all those “day to day” injuries.

I haven't re-watched the game, but what seemed to work on the play was how after the linebackers bit on the run fake, they all bailed on the play as an obvious passing situation, I think one ISU LB may have even turned his back to the ball to get after the wideout/TE going across the middle, and the tailback was able to easily operate in space after they vacated it. My thought was that using this occasionally, whether as effective as OU was with it or not, knowing you have a tendency to make that pitch might delay the coverage LB enough to make for easier pitch and catch on those moderate routes over the middle.

Throw a few roll right, screen back to the left, or counter plays might be better. The best offense to watch to get ideas is the Chiefs. Every game they come up with new plays to isolate players on an island. They did use a shovel pass last week for a TD.
I would love to see Purdy run the ball off a fake to his left, and then run right, keep that backside DE and OLB staying at home and not crashing down to stop Hall.
