From Star Tribune late this afternoon:

"Twins center fielder Byron Buxton has been diagnosed with a left mid-foot sprain and is day-to-day, the team announced."
Well that’s a bullet dodged..... until he breaks his wrist running into a wall.

Anyone gonna get the mlb.tv or whatever subscription this year? I got it last year and cancelled it in May before I had to pay again. I can’t get FS north where I live in NE Iowa (most FS MW). I am worried about some of the weird blackout stuff I’ve heard. Last year if I logged in from the tv via my roku a lot of games where blackout. However if I logged in on my phone and didn’t connect to wireless then I could watch any game I wanted. I don’t care how I watch the Twins, I just need a reliable way to stream (especially this year, this is the year boys!!!!!!)

I can't get FSN in SW WI either. I have to rely on Dish and in the past I'd at least be able to see some road games in Chicago. And now Dish won't pony
up so ch. 429 is blacked out.
Bad year for this as according to Sid (or whoever writes his column) this is the best Twins squad ever.

So can’t you just buy the mlb.tv thing?

Can we all agree MLB is the absolute worst league in terms of putting their games in front of fans?

In today's world they should sell any team's games in any market. People go to the ballpark for an experience and the blackout rules are dumb in 2020.

The won't though. People would expect not be be screwed when things get back to something more normal. I do feel for fans in Iowa, ANY regional team a fan is likely to follow is blocked, truely a giant **** you to the fans.

Still undecided how bored or how much I miss baseball to accept this joke 60 game playoff as a season. Cancelled my team MLB subscription. Will I be bored enough to subscribe by the end of the month? General MLB channel is repeating yesterday's NY teams playing right now. Odd empty stands, looks like warmups. Managers and players with masks on in the dugouts. Mets have some silly people cutouts behind the plate and down the lines and a bit of fake crowd noise. Just weirdly quiet.

yes it is absolutely ridiculous. The owners and Mannfred have not just failed to promote the game, they have actively torpedoed it. With youth participation in football tanking there is a huge opportunity, but they have to make major changes or the sports going to be in serious trouble.
-Get people access to games on TV!
-shorten the games ALOT
-shorten the season

They can’t tweak around with little marginal changes. Purists might not like it, but the sports fan base is ancient and is going to fall off the cliff soon. Having almost every park be a bandbox already has made the game a boring walk/backward K fest that’s tough to watch. I would love to see some rule changes that get more action and a variety of styles.

I've had Directv for the past 9 years, and living in Cedar Rapids, with the Sports Pack, I've always gotten Fox Sports North and been able to watch the Twins game.

Last fall I finally ditched DTV (sick of all the price hikes) and switched to YouTube TV. I love YTTV and when I signed up, it included Fox Sports North. With the ordeal with Sinclair a few months ago, FS North is no longer on YTTV in Iowa.

I would love to be able to just pay the $99 a year for MLB.tv to get access to Twins games, but in Iowa, Twins games would be blacked out.

Option: Get Hulu Live, which still has Fox Sports North in Iowa. I like YTTV too much that I don't want to switch, so I'd actually considered just paying $55/month for Hulu in addition to that just for the baseball season. Not ideal though. Pretty spendy to pay for both streaming services.

My current solution: http://yoursports.stream/
Cost: $0
This has worked great so far for the couple of preseason games. I'm able to load it up in the web browser on my Amazon Firesticks I have on all my TVs.

Yes, technically this is stealing. But, you know what? MLB gave me very little choice. I'm willing to pay to watch their product, but if I have to jump through hoops anyway (using proxy to circumvent blackouts on MLB.tv), I'm just gonna get it for free.

Update the archaic blackout rules, and I'll gladly subscribe next season.

Back to baseball: really excited to watch this team. It's been too long. Go Twins!

I bought the mlbtv thing so I can watch them on my phone. Annoying but I’ll do what I gotta do. 25 bucks a month but hey! It’s only a 2 month season!!
