Was just a little lightning and then it was hard to see outside.

Got warning on my phone. Been watching radar for the last 90 minutes. Ominous looking stuff coming our way. Then storm warnings go off. Every 15 minutes or so. Magically the stuff on the path heading our way stays north. The other part sort of dissipated. Was supposed to be over by 9:50. Looked at radar again. Looks like nothing coming our way - nearest is by Iowa City. Decide it's my chance to walk the dog. Head out. Lighting all around but everything is dry here. About 2 blocks from home I feel the first drop. Turn around and head back home. Still just barely sprinkling.

What part of town are you in? Still have power here in Marion.
NE side near Target. Power went out just after 8, came back just before 12:30.

Fun part was we are in a gated community, and the gates run by, you guessed it, electricity. Couldn’t get hold of any of the HOA board members either, to see if there was a way to manually open them. Then we discovered the gate by our unit must be on the circuit across the street, that still had power, because that one still worked. Fun times.

A lot of small debris around my neighborhood, but outside someone's metal shed torn up, it appears the damage was minor. A lot of small to medium sized branches down; had to move one off the road.
