The weather men/women sure missed big time on this one. What happened?
We were supposed to get an inch or more of rain yesterday and overnight... and not a drop. May not get anything at all today either.
Glad they were all wrong though.... was great to get that game in yesterday!

The storm line slid to the north of Ames as it moved across the state. It's not like there was no rain. The areas that were in the main storm did get around 1"
Easy, they have no clue what they are doing.
I think it was Wednesday last week in Des Moines, predicted high of 87, it rained all day and high of like 72.
Rained cats and dogs most of the night up here in the Twin Cities.
Today was supposed to be rainy too as of a couple days ago (so said my weather app, I didn't dig into the particulars) and now it's supposed to be sunny and pleasant?
There was plenty of activity but the location was off. Which is unfortunate...lots of people changed or canceled their plans in central Iowa due to the threat of severe weather, which never materialized. Probably kept attendance at yesterday's game down somewhat.
Good soaking rain, too. Ground was able to absorb most of the water
Guarantee NC Iowa got a lot more than an inch. Most places up here I would guess saw 2-3 at least
Field in western Iowa worked in the spring went 40 bu. / acre. Early rain and then nothing. Other reports no- till crops same as last year( above average yields). Ran into Down pour on way home west of Atlantic.
1.44" at Crystal Airport station north of me which qualifies as a monsoon after several years of drought.
Yeah a guy south of crystal lake was over 5 inches of rain. Forest city got hammered I heard.
Yeah, we drove through FC when it was coming down the hardest. Lots of flash flooding. Kinda figured there were areas that got 5+ inches.
Doubt it. Vast majority of the heavy stuff went south and east. Wouldn’t be surprised if we got a couple inches at least.
I would encourage everyone to sign up to be a CoCoRahs reporter, especially in rural areas. Free and extremely easy to report with the app. The data is used for a number of uses including NWS forecasts/reports.

Just made an appointment to have my furnace checkup and the highs in Central Iowa the next 3 days are expected to be 90, 91, and 90.

It's coming. Initial forecasts for the JT legacy game are a high of 60 for the day with a low of 44 during the game. Football weather! As people like to say.
