Yeah, one of the things about Prohm is that he really likes to go small. Sometimes it seems he likes to do it too much.
We will struggle with no bigs, and you have to give Gonzaga credit. They appear to be a very good team.
Put Carter in and tell him to get physical. Holden and Bowie are trying to keep out of foul trouble. We need someone that's expendable to push him around and try to draw some fouls on the ogre.
Pick your poison. If we guard outside, they killed us down low, and guard inside and they bomb away. I expect a better half, but their lineup looks like our kryptonite.
That first half was more about Gonzaga playing really well, not ISU playing poorly. Either way you look at it, not looking good for the Cyclones.
You have put him in a position where he is over matched. Burton's jumping ability makes him good as the wing coming in and blocking off the back side, but at 6'4" or 5 if you give him the benefit of the doubt, he is just out matched there.
I was "selling" Gonzaga somewhat in preseason. I'll stand corrected. But also, this is about the worst type of matchup for ISU. Significant size advantage, but plenty of quickness, good shooters and game plan.
If you don't have the size, you usually double the post and hope they can't kick to the open man to sink the open look.
