Good toughness on defense.

The biggest thing about this game is this team will be ugly when playing a defense that is allowed to restrict movement. TT was fortunate the refs let everything go for nearly 36 minutes

We also just shot poorly and had unforced errors. We started the 2nd half 1-15. That's just bad regardless of anything.

My biggest disappointment is that the staff made little adjustments. With 4 minutes left in the game we were still running our offense through Conditt 30 feet from the basket. TT is overplaying everything, and could, because the ball was so often in a guy's hands that was in positon to do nothing but dump off.

I think even Steve would have created more space for IB and/or gotten Enaruna on a big.
Honestly the fact that we can start a half like we did in the 2nd and still beat a team is a pretty big deal. The defensive game plan was flawless. Offensively, sometimes this team can only play with the cards they're dealt

You can only pump sunshine at all times. No way you can be rational about how good we are on defense and how anemic we are on offense. Don't you dare try to analyze some of the things we need to improve in order to win in the Big 12 and make the NCAA Tournament. Don't you dare!
Yeah, I don't know why anyone is insecure about some red flags being raised about our offense.

We know its limited. The Baylor game shows we know how to play when it's limited in talent and shot making (getting to the paint, FTs), but TT basically fouled us so badly we could not even run offense.

We have a freshman pg and a bunch of average ball handlers, and a center that is not a threat.

We also made no adjustments. TT is mugging and restricting movement, and our response was to run stuff through Conditt with a small freshman pg that can't shoot, a sg that can't shoot or do anything on offense. That is BAD combo.

Get Enaruna and Kunc in there. I don't think it matters more than 4-6 points, because TT still would not have allowed guys to move, but 4-6 more points is big in this game

Brockington is a hero. Burn the tape and move on to the next.

Actually this is good tape to watch and figure out our shortcomings. Initially I expected a rock fight but when they got up I thought we’d be fine.

This was the Ewing theory application for Tech. They knew they had to lay it on the line because they were short handed.

Welcome to conference play and the scouting that comes with it. We’re gonna learn a lot about TJ’s coaching in the next 2 months. That being said…it’s a W in the toughest conference in the country so I’ll take it without complaint.
Don't feel like TJ/staff are sleeping much tonight or the next few days.

I love when amateur posters on CF make recommendations as to TJ's coaching.

I am interested to see what Scott Christopherson's analysis of this game is. He's been spot on in analysis all year, especially on the offensive end.

No offense, but we’re you in a coma since the Sweet 16 team? Because Prohm would have made exactly 0 adjustments. It was pretty much his MO.
Prohm actually had some pretty good offensive success against Bread/Adams defenses if i recall.

We can't have Hunter, Gabe, and Conditt out there while running high post offense past the three point line, Conditt with his back to the bucket.

Creighton lost tonight by 34 to Nova, on the road. 2 weeks ago they beat them at home by 20. Weird **** happens in basketball, and just a change in one variable will change the entirety of a game. Butterfly effect ****, I guess. As fugly as it was, take a W any way possible.

Yep, especially in another covid-marred season
